I worked in the UAE for a while. It was so obvious that there is effectively a slave class. The Emiratis think they’re gods and look down on everyone else a disposable and subhuman. That entire region is fucked but the West turns a blind eye because of money. FIFA, FIA, etc.

It feels like the iPhone keyboard changed and this happens significantly more often now. I think it’s apple trying to “help”

They’ve been failing the “crumple test” for a few years now. The fabric holds a ton of wrinkles after bunching it in your hand.

For me Uniqlo has taken a turn for the worse. Clothing I bought from them years ago is still in great condition. Things I’ve bought in the last year are falling apart and feel cheaper.

Exciting news but they still have a long way to go before commercial availability:

The big problem is that the devices are horrifically short-lived. Even the most stable device made by the first group had dropped to 80 percent of its original efficiency after just 66 hours of exposure to sunlight. The second was somewhat better, managing to reach 347 hours before dropping below 80 percent. Assuming 12 hours of sunlight a day, however, that translates to less than a month of use, which is terrible.>
