BurningnnTree@lemmy.oneto Gaming@lemmy.ml•When will they learn? When will they learn, that their actions have consequences?English211·9 months agoAs someone who actually bought this game, I can confirm that it’s not good. The main issue is that there’s not nearly enough content to be worth the $40 price tag. It just has a few PvP game modes and that’s it. It’s basically like paying $40 just to play the PvP portion of Destiny, except worse because you don’t get to build your own character.
I don’t know much about GTA, but I have a hard time imagining GTA6 being anything less than a gigantic success. It doesn’t need to be a massive improvement over GTA5, it just needs to be a noticeable upgrade. The only way I can see it failing is if they get too greedy with their live service model, but even then it’s still probably going to sell like 40 million copies in its first year.

Good choice
BurningnnTree@lemmy.oneto Technology@beehaw.org•Reddit’s deal with OpenAI will plug its posts into “ChatGPT and new products”English40·1 year agoSo you’re saying instead of tacking “site:reddit.com” onto my Google search, I can now use ChatGPT to get the same information, except without the original context, and it will often be wrong? Amazing!
And this also means that companies will fill Reddit with fake comments promoting their brand to ensure that their brand gets mentioned in ChatGPT responses, right? Can’t wait!
Every time I do a coding test, I always overlook certain optimizations because I’m too stressed to think clearly. After the interview is done, I quickly realize what I did wrong. When this happens, I send a follow-up email where I tell the hiring manager that i made a mistake, and I provide my corrected code or explain what I should have done differently. I’ve landed two different jobs before by doing this. (One was a live coding test and the other was a take-home test.) So don’t be afraid to follow up with corrections, even if the deadline for the take-home test has passed.
They need to bring back the thing where you move the control stick left and right during drift to build up boost
BurningnnTree@lemmy.oneto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's your fave movie of all time that you love to recommend to people?English5·1 year agoI just recently saw Triangle. Definitely an under-appreciated movie. That one shot after she chases the girl to the top of the ship is S tier horror. Great ending too.
I assume you’re talking specifically about upcoming games that haven’t been released yet? Yeah I can’t really think of anything coming up that I’m excited about. Currently the only games I’m looking forward to are Metroid Prime 4 (if it ever comes out) and the indie game Dreamsettler (the sequel to Hypnospace Outlaw)
BurningnnTree@lemmy.oneto Gaming@beehaw.org•Resident Evil 9 could be an open world game, it’s claimedEnglish6·1 year agoI really liked the part in RE4 Remake where you boat around the lake to explore various places. I hope we’ll see more parts like that in RE9.
BurningnnTree@lemmy.oneto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is anyone else worried about the apple vision pro?English201·1 year agoI think tech reviewers are really naive for thinking that Apple Vision Pro is the future of computing just because it was made by Apple. Nobody wants to use their computer or watch movies in VR, except for in niche situations. My prediction is that users will quickly realize that they don’t actually have any use for the Apple Vision Pro, and the product line will be discontinued.

BurningnnTree@lemmy.oneto Gaming@lemmy.ml•Walmart Reportedly Starting to Purge Physical Games Next WeekEnglish4·1 year agoThis might mean it’s true that the upcoming Xbox Series X refresh won’t have a hard drive. Microsoft wouldn’t want Xbox games to be on store shelves when they’re no longer selling consoles that can play them.
BurningnnTree@lemmy.oneto Gaming@lemmy.ml•MSI demos a monitor that gives you an AI helping hand in League of Legends and it might stretch the boundaries of what's considered fairEnglish5·1 year agoI think products like this are inevitable, although I’m surprised that MSI is trying to be at the forefront of it. It’s weird that a company that sells esports equipment is also going to sell equipment for cheating.
BurningnnTree@lemmy.oneto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you have a preferred artist or band that isn't widely recognized in the mainstream?English3·1 year agoI consider Gorillaz to be mainstream. Or at least Demon Days was mainstream.
I don’t really understand what the author is complaining about. Spotify Wrapped is just a fun thing that shows you your music listening stats. The data is all very obvious and not invasive at all. Is the author arguing that it should be discontinued? Or is he saying it should change in some way?
BurningnnTree@lemmy.oneto Technology@beehaw.org•Google-hosted malvertising leads to fake Keepass site that looks genuineEnglish2·2 years agoThey could add some kind of warning message that notifies you when the URL has unicode in it. Then the user can decide if they want to disable the warning or not.
BurningnnTree@lemmy.oneto Technology@beehaw.org•The synthetic social network is comingEnglish17·2 years agoI think it will happen. Multiplayer video games already match people with bots that are presented as if they were human players, and 99.9% of players don’t care. As long as a game makes you feel like you’re playing against other humans, most people consider that good enough. Similarly, as long as a bot on Instagram or Twitter feels human enough to be enjoyable to interact with, users won’t care that they aren’t actually human.
I can’t tell if this is a liberal or conservative meme, since both sides call the other side fascist.
