Ever notice how there’s a lot of Russophobia and racism against Russians in Counter-Strike games?
Before the ukraine war, I noticed that a bunch of insults in that game were targetting Russians like saying SUKA BLYAT in a mocking tone. Some of The U.S fan base generalize(d) russians as if they're like this.

Are there any homeless/poverty stimulators that are reasonably realistic?
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.perthchat.org/post/224417 > I bumped into one, but it was a one button click to get a job > > My ideas, which is based off people I've met.: > > Realistic can go a few ways, prob a good idea is like a difficulty/character selection. > > One character: homeless, addicted to meth, has permanent meth induced schizophrenia. If your character doesn't take a dosage every few hours/days, starts taking pokemonesce poison damage to imitate withdrawal. When taking dosage, every now and then have a big schizophrenia episode and get banned from homeless shelters. Frequently jumped on the streets by hoodlums/homeless. Has 7 kids, 4 in foster care, 3 with exes > > Character 2: mother with 5 kids, works minimum wage full time. Chronically dates domestic abusers. As in, suffers like poison damage when not dating an POS. Sleeps 3 hours a day. Home has severe cockroaches, led paint that damaged kids brains. Been formally evicted, so is on a blacklist from non hood jobs. No family support. > > Character 3: teenage kid of character 1 or 2. Learning disorder gives bad grades. Dropped out of school. Went to a bad school and has bad influence friends. Doesn't believe in working a reg job to earn income, but sells drugs to earn money bc his friends do that. > > Etc > > It's be interesting to actually go from that to the American dream of having reasonable job, having adequate housing as oppose to substandard housing, etc > > If you're wondering, the people irl I'm thinking about never made it further. Character 1 died from fentanyl overdose, character 2 when WGTOW (women gone their own way) but hasn't improved things further. Didn't ask her that that much about how she managed to stop dating POSes. Character 3 ended up in prison for murder. > > I'm not sure what game play would look like. Ex, what would game play look like of going to therapy? Might work best as like a visual novel/point and click.

How the hell do I make Retroarch work?
cross-posted from: https://lemmygrad.ml/post/498752 > I've downloaded the cores, but when I choose my folder it simply doesn't read my roms, I've tried the Steam version, the .deb version, multiple Linux flavours, it just doesn't want to work. It looks like a really nice piece of software but it refuses to let me play.

Cool Stuff Happening In the CK3 Modding Space
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.ml/post/712158 > Some of you fellow grand strategy lovers may know about one of Paradox's newer games, Crusader Kings 3, but have you been paying attention to what's been happening in modding? Let me take you through some of the coolest work that is happening right now. > > Let's start off with Godherja. Godherja takes you to a completely custom fantasy world, completely with magic, ridiculously deep lore, several stories, and a world that feels alive. A world torn asunder by destructive living magic gone awry, Aeras is barely holding on. Become a powerful, immortal mage-emperor and try to take over the world, become known for your monster hunting prowess, slaying beast known only to legend. Or perhaps just wait in anticipation, for the Fog to end it all. Even more exciting are two upcoming updates, the updated magic system to make it interact with the characters and the world even more, and the liches. Oh boy the liches. > > Next up on the list is Rajas of Asia. Now if you love history, especially when it's not eurocentric, then this mod is for you. I have personally seen the hours of dedication poured into this mod. Where to begin. Well let's start with the fact that almost the entirety of Asia has been added, with more to come! You can play as the Great Tang Empire, as Balhae, anywhere that you like, extending all the way to Papua. Not only does this mod have the awesome Cultural and Religious Minority system integrated (made by the same dev shoutout to Nezaros), but there is also City of Wonders 2 to give you metropolises, Dharmachakra for wonderful religious depth, and so many more. Soon to come to this mod is a complete rework of the Steppes, which is sorely needed, and there are whispers of more bookmarks to come! > > I'd be remise if I did not mention RICE and VIET, which to me go hand in hand. RICE provides flavor packs for several areas of the game including, Moravia, one that allows you to interact with Greenland, and Sub-Saharan Africa. VIET adds over 1000 events. Both of these mods together will surely make all of your games just burst with flavor and uniqueness. > > Finally, I'd like to mention Elder Kings 2 (I'd recommend that you play it with c0da, a gamerule mod for it). This'll be a short one as it speaks for itself. The entirety of Nirn in the second era has been taken into the world of CK3 for you to enjoy! Patrons, events, decisions, and all your favorite kingdoms are there! > > This is just a short foray into the world of CK3 modding. There are several other impressive mods. Sinews of War with its creative use of the struggle system for trade, Dynamic Trade Routes with its depth of resources and coin. Not to mention graphical mods like Ethnicities and Portraits, and Community Flavor Pack. There is a lot to this space. I was just so saddened to see how quiet this community was and had to make a post about one of my favorite games. Anywho, links for those who want to check these awesome mods out: > > Godherja: > Steam - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2326030123 > Manual Download - https://www.moddb.com/mods/godherja-the-dying-world > > Rajas of Asia: > Steam - https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=2509174436 > Paradox Plaza - https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/45292/Any > > RICE: > Steam - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2273832430 > Paradox Plaza - https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/15338/Any > > VIET: > Steam - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2227658180 > Paradox Plaza - https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/12992/Any > > Elder Kings 2: > Steam - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2887120253 > Manual Download - https://www.nexusmods.com/crusaderkings3/mods/32/ > > c0da: > Steam - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2893175092 > Manual Download - https://catalogue.smods.ru/archives/137214
