You can get pretty granular on the permissions of users. I host one myself and it’s a family server.

I crosspost with popular communities. For example !peertube@lemmy.world is an awesome place to find federated videos from across the fediverse ;)
Also become the change you want to see. Post comment ect… Its a community, have fun with others that enjoy the same stuff you do.
Also if you hang out in New, you eventually see things you like and then subscribe.
Yeah I would probably go for it if it was python.
You could add a small js script like Google analytics (but your own of course). I’ve done that with a couple of corporate websites that I used to run.
It’s available with admins or channel owners.
And emulators within GitHub. Thankfully the development continues.
Good.
Nope. And it wouldn’t work very well with activityhub.
Not everyone who is on Lemmy is actually on the platform. If things get changed retroactively, it will look extremely weird with only Lemmy showing the change but every other fediverse platform showing the original, modlog or not.
At that point, I wouldn’t trust Lemmy all that much anymore.
Edit: ah reread, tags and NSFW might be good for specific communities. Although again activityhub will be the issue.
I thought you were going with editing posts like on reddit that one time. That I’m opposed to.
PopOS is very stable as a desktop. It also keeps up to date with packages better than base Ubuntu in my opinion.
Also introduces small amounts of bad metals in the air. It’s one of the reasons wooden satellites are starting to be sent up.
At the end of the day, there are actually better electric cars now for the price. Even starlink is starting to get major market competition for cheaper.
Piefed already does this to a certain extent. Take a look at the topics: https://piefed.social/topic/arts-craft
It allows each community to stay “independent” but also have their posts come up in one big feed.
Interesting! I’ll have to give that a shot sometime.
Try old.lemmy.world or piefed, both I believe you can login with links2

One place I worked at just gave people Linux computers without telling them and disabled the boot image. The job was mostly online Salesforce, so Chrome got them through everything. Imaging was a breeze. We even made it kinda look like windows. No one really commented on it. We didnt hide it from anyone but we didnt go out of our way to make a big deal out of it.
Linux works when people stop thinking of it as “Linux”. Its “Android” or “Steam OS” or “My smart TV” etc… All you need to do is rename it and suddenly they are ok with it.
One universal login via fediverse sounds like a dream. I would love that.
Sdf is pretty amazing.
Yeah it can be that easy. Pixelfed.social is the big one.
Or you can go with one of the others to share the load.
I personally spun my own instance up just to try it out a couple of days ago. It’s neart and very perforant.
It’s a pretty fun game. Wish there were more levels.
