I agree that comments like that are unhelpful/unnecessary, but how is that “for their own benefit”? Other than the actual devs themselves using that as a way to just ignore issues, I do not follow

Are any of those things that you actually deal with as a beginner, though? Sure, those add complexities, but by the time you start to get into them, you are probably no longer a beginner.

What is a web3 game? Something that allows you to grind for NFTs?
162·8 months agoLook up the article on Wayback machine and you only find minimal updates over the years.
The difference between this and the most recent snapshot from before Aug. 28, 2024 is just that they removed the link to a particular news story. Even checking the oldest snapshot, you can see there has been no significant change to the main content since it was originally posted years back.
19·8 months agoGood thing that it went to Wine I guess, as they do lots of work to get old Windows programs up and running in Linux and that often involves Mono.
I see this as the main purpose of this transfer of ownership. When it comes to developing new software, MS has their modern tech stack for creating cross-compatible code, and the recommendation is to use that. But that is not helpful when trying to get old legacy software running on a modern system. So MS is giving this “outdated” technology to the WINE team. A team whose primary goal is getting incompatible software to run in the “wrong” environment. This should allow WINE to continue to properly handle older Mono software for the foreseeable future.
5·8 months agoMy issue with Stardew Valley content updates is that they change how the game works. It is not just adding extra postgame missions or something. The content updates tend to fundamentally change how some things work. Your possible/preferred routes to reach endgame today are much different than they were in 2016. It makes it feel like perpetual Early Access.
I am becoming the same way. Maybe I am just old, but I miss the days of buying something and having a finished product. Instead, we have games like this and Stardew Valley that release in an incomplete state and are still receiving major content updates almost a decade later.
The only fork I know is Sentien Launcher, which I believe was abandoned.
EDIT: It’s still on F-Droid, but I couldn’t find a setting to move the search bar.

I never knew it’s “desktop mode” was Ubuntu and not Android.
I have definitely installed a handful of APKs over the years that did not work for me because they required Play Services, but that is far from being most of the APKs I’ve tried.
They escaped from a pyramid scheme by pretending to be homeless.

It officially only supports CentOS which doesnt even exist anymore lol.
It is supported on Rocky Linux.
Anyway, I assume this doesn’t make things any easier to get it to run on an AMD GPU, is that correct?
Just know that Wine >9.4 is currently bugged and will not work with yabridge. There is a discussion on Github about installing 9.4 and holding it from updating.
