Can you detail your VM setup? I’ve tried Windows 10 on several occasions using Qemu and VirtualBox and the UI lag has been complete ass, even after installing the driver packages for each VM host.
AnomalousBit@programming.devto Technology@lemmy.ml•Puget Systems Reveals Intel Core & AMD Ryzen CPU Failure Rates In Report: Claims Higher Failures on Ryzen 7000 Than 14th Gen402·10 months agoThis smells like a job by the Intel PR recovery team. Not to mention the amount of data collected and published by game developers about the 13th and 14th gen failures over the past several weeks. There’s just no fucking way.

AnomalousBit@programming.devto Technology@lemmy.ml•Mozilla acquired Anonym, an ad start-up182·11 months agoWell that’s cool if they want to become an ad company, but last I checked they are known for making a browser. I’m sure they’ll do so much better than Oracle in the ad business. /s
AnomalousBit@programming.devto Technology@lemmy.ml•Mozilla acquired Anonym, an ad start-up791·11 months agoI wish Mozilla had been really clear about their intentions and end goals with this acquisition. On the face of it, it looks terrible. Especially when you look at their jettisoning of Servo.
What the hell are they up to if making a browser engine isn’t a core competency, but buying an ad company is considered a wise move?

Man these troll farm grunts are so insightful

AnomalousBit@programming.devto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If we all exist in a simulation, what will happen once we start running out of RAM?2·1 year agoI believe you are thinking in terms of a Turing-machine-like computer. I don’t think it’s possible today to “suspend” the bits in a quantum computer. I also don’t think it’s possible to know if the simulation could be paused (or even “added to” without losing its initial state).

Certainly not a spelling bee!
AnomalousBit@programming.devto Linux@lemmy.ml•How many of you run a Linux phone (Pine64, Librem etc) as your daily driver?3·1 year agoWill definitely give these a look, thank you for the updates.
Can you speak to your experience with any of these? Would love to hear a first hand account!
AnomalousBit@programming.devto Linux@lemmy.ml•How many of you run a Linux phone (Pine64, Librem etc) as your daily driver?14·1 year agoWould really love to but have yet to see basic phone functionality covered in a way that isn’t a painful compromise. Stock Android is a privacy nightmare, which is why I left it. I had some fun with Cyanogenmod back in the day, maybe there’s another de-googled Android distribution around today but since I last checked I couldn’t find one that runs on modern mainstream hardware without really jumping through some crazy hoops to establish root.
There was a lot of publicity a few weeks ago about “the year long cruise” that ended. I haven’t tuned in, but apparently quite a few people on the cruise vlogged their travels. There were apparent conflicts, and with both sides wanting to say their part I’m sure more misery was shared publicly than one would normally air. This might just border on reality TV though, I haven’t really looked into it.
