I’ll admit I can’t wrap my head around how many of this works.
I like kbin and the default content it provides for the most part… But I want to branch out a bit.
I know there’s a formula 1 community I want to join on lemmy, do I need to sign up for Lemmy now? And do I need to sign up for multiple “instances” whatever those are?
I’m pretty tech savvy but the fediverse makes me feel stupid, i have to assume this could be a barrier to entry for some
Agree. Reddit ultimately has familiarity and simplicity going for it. I have been part of Lemmy and the “fediverse” for a few months now but I still have no idea wtf it actually is and I feel like I’m still not a part of any one community.
I do have high hopes for Tildes though, seems to be somewhat of a middle ground
It blows my mind how reddit is so mainstream now, when it was such a niche corner of the web when I joined it.
Seems like the natural lifecycle of things. I’m excited to see what the next reddit is going to be

Ok i am all in on the Elon hate, but I know you’re lying because I have a friend with full self driving and if you so much as look at the person in the passenger seat the car flips a shit and will even go as far as to disable full self driving for the rest of your trip.
