Unfortunately I dont have the time or willpower to go into detail and I do disagree with how you want change to come about, but if what you want happens, I truly hope it results in a better society for people to live in. I think we can both agree we just want things to be better for people.

I respectfully disagree that the party could never change due to their current funding, and I am rubbed the wrong way by how you continue to seem to push that I shouldn’t support better politicians just because they aren’t perfect.
Bernie and those like him have informed me and many others of what a good politician can look like and may have inspired others like AOC to start their career. I will support them as much as I can because they may inspire even more like them to actually have enough people to make a meaningful change in the party or, if we miraculously get away from the two party system, spin up a new one.
I dunno, I dont think it’s normal to get two blue screens on a fresh windows install.
Windows audio really is trash though, I’m totally with you there.

poke@sh.itjust.worksto Gaming@lemmy.ml•When will they learn? When will they learn, that their actions have consequences?41·10 months agoI just want to provide a contrasting opinion to the other response here. I and a few of my friends have tried it and we just aren’t ready to dedicate way too much time to learning a game that seems to want to be almost as complex as DOTA2. So many characters, map mechanics, and item builds to adapt to the situation (this one in particular) - its just too much. Like, pick two and maybe I’d find it worth my time to start learning, but the complexity of all 3 make the game too daunting.

How do you believe it can be avoided?2·10 months agoI’ve already seen hivemind votes on some Lemmy comment threads. It’s just inevitable. Hopefully most Lemmy communities can be better about the banning thing though.
That’s not what that implies. I’ve seen that argument from religious people describing how atheists must be unruly because they have no incentive to meet a good afterlife.
I can still be clean, look how I want, and be nice to others just because I want to and I like it when others do the same.

poke@sh.itjust.worksto Privacy@lemmy.ml•Discord to start showing ads in the coming week after resisting for almost a decade4·1 year agoI don’t know why so many people in the fediverse consider Element a competitor to Discord. I regularly use Element, but the non-text functionality just isn’t ready to point people at as an alternative. They will have a bad time and write off Element potentially forever if they are shown that app as an alternative right now.
Some examples of functionality that is important to discord but is not a good experience or is not ready in element yet: voice/video channels, screen sharing, custom emotes and reactions, channel organization and browsing (their latest attempt just doesn’t do it for me).
Additionally, there are times when encryption just has a hiccup still or someone sets it up wrong and things can be messy because of it.
I really like element and they’ve done a good job so far, but It’s just not ready for people to be pushed there from discord.

Oh hey it’s that redpill content they were warning me about!
It’s more obvious when it’s someone with emoji as their name (you know who you are :p )
I’ve been seeing waaaay too much unwarranted vitriol and anger in comments lately, for things that really aren’t that big a deal (like Linux vs windows) and I find it disappointing. As a community we should want Lemmy to grow, and yes that does mean we will get more “normie” posts, but imo that’s good and if someone doesn’t like it they can use more niche community spaces, which there will be more of with a larger userbase.
