You can be an exploited, underpaid and overworked farm laborer pretty easily if that’s something you want.

Lotta people want to kick off French Revolution part 2 without knowing what happened to Robespierre.

Some of yall are nasty.
I probably wouldn’t classify it that way. It’s a cesspool but not really what I’d consider “far right” like say Stormfront.
You’ll find people openly arguing with Nazis so it’s not really fair to say it’s a far right forum as much as it is just a complete cesspool where the worst side of people comes out.
FWIW I wouldn’t really consider Telegram a far right forum either even though they’re definitely there and highly visible.
Aka, “Why Don’t You Respond to Criticism?”
It all boils down to bad faith. They don’t care what argument you make, you’ll never sway them. They’re not interested in the debate with you as much as as they are just getting their bullshit out there for randos to read. Like you say, while you’re finding sources and making sure everyone agrees on terminology they’ve already said 3 more things that are completely wrong.
4chan is a “far-right forum” now?

I still gotta pay $100 for glasses but that’s way better than the $400 they cost retail.

Subtle rightwing and like, morbid “shock” content and even some animal abuse started popping up more and more. I just gradually started using it less and less, it was pretty obvious what was going on.
nomous@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.ml•Elon Musk's X pushes Trump tags on all US users10·9 months agoI have no idea why people just jumped to another billionaire owned walled garden when Mastodon is sitting right there.

He’s said he’s going to donate $45m per month to Trump until November. It’s becoming very clear he bought out Twitter to suppress free communication of people.
He sees which way the wind is blowing and is hoping he can help install Dictator-for-a-day Trump who’ll deregulate every industry and cut every tax that might apply to him.

I used to watch every day for years but stopped a long time ago; when every episode became a food episode. Their podcast (Ear Biscuits) is a bit better, it’s more them talking about things long form, just being 40+ year old fairly normal (if not very successful) guys. They’ve talked about quitting GMM, I think once their various kids are done with school they’ll pack it up (the main show at least). They both have other passions but it’s really difficult to stop when you’ve built a successful, working media company with your childhood best friend, even if they’re both ready to retire.
They actually bought Smosh and brought Ian and Anthony back, and then sold Smosh back to them a few years later. That was a really cool move to me and and got them a HUGE pass in my book, they’re stand-up guys.
Full disclosure: despite not watching much of their video content anymore I still went and saw them on their most recent tour (about a month ago, it was a gift) and had a great time. They did some of their games but modified them to be specific to my state, did a food ranking with some local-foods, and of course had a couple musical numbers.
I actually used to open them up and snip the wires, you don’t get to hear it POST but that never really became an issue.

Yeah it looks bombed-out as fuck to anything more complicated than plant-life. I’m not saying we shouldn’t be pursuing nuclear energy, just that this argument feels very poorly constructed and intentionally misleading.
nomous@lemmy.worldto Privacy@lemmy.ml•To those of you with nothing to hide: One day you might have. Because you don’t make the rules.3·10 months agoSo you logged into all their social media and changed their passwords and recovery emails right? I don’t just want access now, I want it in perpetuity.
Friend I’ve worn 50 different brands at a dozen different price points, until you’re a podiatrist you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about.
Bro I have bad feet after years of wearing shitty chucks and vans. $100 is like the entry level for good “adult” shoes. Even then you’re probably walking around in some neon Asics or something.
edit: orthotics are your friend but they’re not cheap either
It would be beautiful if he just handed the keys over to a true believer when it’s time. Just a quality, stand up person who already has a pocket full of cash and just wants to help gamers get games and indie devs distribute them without squeezing every drop of profit they can at every step.
edit: it’d be even beautifuler if he turned it over to a trust managed by a panel of elected employee representatives
What a fucking jerkoff, billions of dollars at his disposal, he’s probably got designers and renowned artists on speed dial…
…and the most creative he can get is “a shirt, but in a fun print!”
