After using the kiss launcher set to icons disabled I forget people use icons and it always feels so weird, even more when they are fuzzy

Lemmy@lemmy.ml•[Help Design Lemmy] How to describe Lemmy in a single Sentence?English
5·14 days agoYeah I guess mastodon has it as ‘decentralized social media’ so it would be more in tune with that

Lemmy@lemmy.ml•[Help Design Lemmy] How to describe Lemmy in a single Sentence?English
3·14 days agoBut if you tell them fediverse they can look it up and see there are tons of other sites that are part of the same group. If you say decentralized it sounds like you’ll be alone and separate
Like anything its about how fun it is. Some people like to binge watch TV shows but thats some thing that I just can’t do. I can do like an episode of one show and maybe one episode of another and then I’m itching to do something else. Where with something like fallout I can sit there and plan my base or several quests for hours. Or arc raiders I can do raid after raid and time could fly.
I generally game early morning between like 5-9am on weekends when the family is still asleep so I don’t really feel like its wasting time, I’d just be sleeping otherwise

2·1 month agoThis is how it felt like setting up my homelab. Watching videos or searching for tutorials when you hit some error and trying to figure it out all frantic. Then you sort of just happen to fix it after putting it down for a bit and everything is OK.
I just went through it last night when I saw my syncthing container had a database corruption error after seeing my darktable had an error. I was able to install the darktable flatpak which worked, synced my darktable database had to use flatseal to give syncthing access to that, then had to rebuild the syncthing database and now all is running again.
At first I was all nervous but remembered how I’ve figured things out in the past and its just a matter of time so I wasn’t panicked like previous times

Gaming@beehaw.org•Welcome to the FPS vibe shift: At the end of 2025, it's clear that casual shooters are back in a big way.
7·1 month agoI think that depends on the way you play. You can lose everything pretty quickly by getting swarmed from a few low level bots or someone shooting you in the back. Which at least for me makes it feel not that casual.
The game does try and match you based on aggressiveness so if you chill and don’t shoot other players you’ll filter into the nicer lobbies although you still never know if the person next to you will choose that day to decide and PvP. Its famous for people to send the ‘don’t shoot’ emote then as soon as you turn to walk away they shoot you
Binging eyes, it can happen to anyone

8·1 month agoI noticed this a while back, everyone was always friendly until this random guy started shooting at me, me and someone next to me doing the same quest ended up taking him down when he came down off the control tower, and I finished him off. After that the next several rounds were always shoot on site

2·2 months agoWouldn’t it be the same way, you open a port just like Plex, or figure out a reverse proxy. I ran jellyfin for a little while back when Plex used to charge people a fee for using mobile
Thronefall got an android port. Not sure how to get it without google but I played it on steam, its like round based, you setup defenses and then fight off a wave. You can back out and come back to the next wave later, at least on desktop.
When you finish a level you unlock new perks and challenges so you can redo the levels to get better scores and stuff.
