When people talk about “Google stealing your data” they are referring to non personal data related to things you buy so that advertisers can target their market better, they aren’t like trading secrets and tracking where you go so they can jump out and I dunno, scare you or some shit? No it’s just for as revenue stuff. They aren’t even serving you more ads they are just serving you more accurate ones because those will generate more revenue from advertisers. Nothing is shared with them like your name or address or even your age really (just a general age group)

Hard to hold down a job to pay for rent/mortgage, car payments, food, utilities, etc. While battling cancer. Your medical expenses may be covered to a small extent but you don’t live for free when you are sick.
Look dude, you really aren’t thinking about the shareholders right now. Get with it

The_Mixer_Dude@lemmus.orgto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's a scam that's so normalized that we don't even realize it's a scam anymore?English12·2 years agoEverything you just said is just… So incorrect. I don’t even know where to begin. With just saying it’s difficult to use, like what the hell are you on? How disillusioned are you that you actually feel that is a true statement?? If anything is the only OS using logical conventions, just in the simple concept of it being the most well known and common is in the world for desktop use.
I don’t even know how to start with the basic usability functions that you claim are missing but as a long time Linux user I’m very interested to see what examples you give because I’m sure everyone is interested.
The_Mixer_Dude@lemmus.orgto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's a scam that's so normalized that we don't even realize it's a scam anymore?English1·2 years agoMemory you aren’t using is wasted memory. You should really look into understanding super fetch and the reason Windows “wastes” memory, reality is it’s sitting files that have common usage in memory so it isn’t constantly pulling them from drives. I mean just the fact that people are running Windows 11 smoothly on Chromebooks with 32gb of emmc 1.5ghz processors and 2gb of memory stands to make your entire statement pretty silly.
Future isn’t ARM it’s Risc-V. Apple just learned this and they are attempting to adapt.
