Swiggles@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Linux@lemmy.ml•State of the Nvidia open source driver in late 2023?53·2 years agoTry playing games like Cyberpunk. I dare you :)
You are lucky if you can play without a crash for even one minute with that card. I am not exaggerating. Something is seriously messed up with the 20XX series.
Also Wayland is still a mess for Nvidia cards overall which is becoming more and more important.
Swiggles@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Linux@lemmy.ml•AMD+Wayland+dual monitor = Screen flickering8·2 years agoYou could try disabling VRR in your display settings. I believe it is set to auto by default if supported, but it does not work properly for some monitors causing flickering.
They stopped being fun 10-15 years ago. Back then people started figuring out the new touch input for games which lead to many simple, but creative games.
Nowadays, it feels like there exists nothing noteworthy in this space. Most are just boring clones of clones of clones riddled with ads and other garbage. I was unable to find even one game worth installing on my phone the past few years.
I don’t know what I am looking for at this point. I love casual games and play a lot on PC or my Steam Deck and it is so much easier to find something there which isn’t just a cheap money grab.
Swiggles@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Linux@lemmy.ml•NVIDIA 545.29.02 Linux Graphics Driver Is Out with Wayland Improvements, More7·2 years agoSame. A 7800 XT is on its way as we speak replacing my 2080 Super. I am just sick of Nvidia even though performance wise it wouldn’t be necessary.
Swiggles@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Linux@lemmy.ml•Wayland heading for default as Mint devs add to Cinnamon 6 • The Register2·2 years agoI am aware, but check the referenced issues. Support has been merged like a year ago and at least gnome on Wayland should work out of the box. It’s incomplete, but it should be working
Also barrier is considered abandoned at this point the previous maintainers forked it which actually is leap input.
Swiggles@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Linux@lemmy.ml•Wayland heading for default as Mint devs add to Cinnamon 6 • The Register1·2 years agoCheck the input leap project. While I haven’t tested it myself, Wayland support got added like a year ago. You still needed to rebuild some packages, but reading the issue tracker now it seems to have gone a long way.
Unfortunately it is still not considered production ready. At this point I assume they will have it implemented and ready way before synergy though.
Swiggles@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Linux@lemmy.ml•Arch root partition is full, how to clean it up?11·2 years agoSounds like you don’t clean your package cache. You can enable the paccache.timer to handle it for you on a weekly basis.

Over 50% of all adults are overweight here.
Every single meal has some form of pasta, potato or rice as a side unless you pick a salad and even then you get some complementary white bread when you eat out.
I always get weird looks when I am asking for more salad or vegetables and no frites.
Just check the menu of any random restaurant around you and look for any low carb option which is not a salad. It is really difficult where I live unless it is a tapas bar.
Ohh, that’s an interesting take! I guess for large parts of Asia it is a bit different. It is a problem in north America as far as I can tell and in Europe where I am from.
You are right with everything you say.
Still the consumption of carbs is too normalized. Many people believe that you should have carbs with every meal which is insane. Just look at any restaurant food, fast food and everywhere. Unless you are dieting you for sure don’t have to avoid carbs, but don’t seek them out either.
I believe this is the single biggest reason for the obesity problem. Most meals really shouldn’t have any added carbs, yet they do.
It depends on the meaning of amount. By volume no, you can continue to eat like always if you adjust the food itself.
Technically yes, it is a food restriction, but in the end it is especially a calorie restriction which is the important part.
You are absolutely correct though.
