The books aren’t terrible, though they are YA fic.

Steve Martin still looks the same
Ozymati@lemmy.nzto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you pirate? And do you justify pirating? i.e., what is your piracy philosophy?3·2 years agoI will pirate it if it’s old (tv series from the 80’s, for example) or if I can’t get it legally. I live in a country that falls through distribution loopholes moderately often. Like right now, I can’t watch the latest season of Lower Decks on prime even though I could the previous ones. Some kind of licensing thing. If it’s not resolved soon, I’ll be taking to the high seas for it.
I remember only spending half my income on rent. And I’m old. But also from a high cost of living area.
Oh it’s fine, that’s a perfectly healthy tire. Absolutely not going to get the rider killed. Trust me, I’m a complete stranger on the internet.
My views are based on knowing the kind of people who are missing fingers from overriding safety features but they still do it
Think less Fukushima and more Texas power grid.
And yeah it is safe, but if it becomes unsafe for whichever reason, it becomes really unsafe. I just don’t trust humans to not eventually something stupid.
Blackout Sabbath?
My only quibble with nuclear power is how irresponsible people are long term. The critical safety failure is always someone incompetent or cutting costs/corners.
Well and that I think distributed generation is more robust. Natural disaster can’t take out power to half a state if there’s energy being generated and stored all over. The means of production in the hands of the consumers.
I’d be more than fine with this, I just don’t want us to hate mosquitoes into a four pests scenario.
Unfortunately, we probably can’t. A LOT of things eat mosquitos.
I’ll settle for a repellent that works or better yet something that makes me no longer react to bites.
Only for people worth impersonating.
Sincerely, Catherine Elizabeth Middleton-Mountbatten-Windsor
I used to use Trillian back in the day - I occasionally miss the convenience. Chatting on mobile mitigates the multi-chat annoyence a little through notifications but it’s still irritating to try to remember where people are when I want to message them.
I seem to recall the downfall of Trillian was data breach. Also of course shortfalls where on different platforms there was different niche functionality that didn’t carry across to Trillian.
The tech landscape has changed a lot since then, Beeper looks like it’s got potential.
Ori and the Blind Forest. I like the art a lot.
I’m using it right now. It’s very nice looking and intuitive but currently lacking some features. If it keeps getting developed I think it’s got potential.
Ozymati@lemmy.nzto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•why does Reddit want us to use the official app so badly?2·2 years agoApp is tied to phone, phone for the most part kills the idea of you being anon. Which means glorious glorious user data, and problem users with multiple accounts get nuked based on their device and inside the app they can serve you anything anyone pays them to serve and unlike browser based stuff there is noting you can do to prevent or pervert it.

That said I hope lemmy can grow into a mature social content aggregator.
Ozymati@lemmy.nzto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What kinds of things from reddit would you like to see Lemmy avoid as the user base grows?01·2 years agoNo I’m genuinely interested to hear your perspective and why it was a point of contention
I hate to say it but they were asked - what they have to say may be unappealing but someone did tell them to say it.
Ozymati@lemmy.nzto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What kinds of things from reddit would you like to see Lemmy avoid as the user base grows?11·2 years agoI’d like less nazis. Including the dog whistling kind.
I have two of those. One’s from my old phone.
