As the world burns to the ground, we’ll always look back fondly at all the hollow, symbolic gestures along the way. Pelosi kneeled once and ended racism. Some wealthy women went to space and ended sexism.

It’s the economic version of recycling and your “carbon footprint.”
Nevermind the gigantic, multinational, conglomerate corporate monsters that are destroying everything- the environment, the economy, democracy, etc. It’s actually your fault personally for not inconveniencing yourself every day to make zero difference.

A populace that is struggling to get by can’t afford to strike and resist, but striking is the only way to make it better. Peaceful protests do nothing. Only a general strike can possibly change things.

That’s my new pet peeve. The thing is I don’t remember seeing people do this in the past and certainly not frequently, but now I see it all the time. Mind-boggling selfishness. I think Covid rotted everyone’s brains way more than we realize.
GreedFall. Old school RPG that flew completely under my radar. It has a 00s Bioware feel to it, before the dark times. The graphics aren’t perfect, etc., but it’s a really fun game with a decent story (so far).

Sure would be a shame if Pakistan made a fortune on this trade at the expense of Putin.

That’s your job. Get out of the creatives’ way and quit insisting that garbage microtransactions be inserted into everything.
It isn’t hard. Gaming companies were able to do it for decades. It’s the rent-seeking executives who are fucking up the gaming industry the same way they’re fucking up everything else.
Sometimes, I think Cointellpro figured out that you don’t need to insert provocateurs to talk about terrorist shit. Just put one nerd in the chat to challenge a subgroup’s purity, and every leftist movement will collapse into infighting and dissolve.
“So, you said you’re auditing the class. Why are you so interested in learning German?”
“Uhh… memes. You can tell they’re fire, but I can’t read them.”

Anthony Bourdain hit hard. I always thought of him as having the best job on earth. He got to see the best of the world and show it to everyone.
It just goes to show we all wrestle with our demons. Don’t ever be afraid to reach out for help.
