People who claim “guys” is gender neutral would most often only count men when asked the question “How many guys did you sleep with in your life?”
Until I find a single person who immediately thinks of people of any gender at that question, I will not fall for the internalized misogyny of “‘guys’ is gender neutral” meme. (Same with “dudes” and all the other ones I’ve seen over the years. I’ve even seen someone say “bro” is gender neutral.)
I haven’t looked into this game beyond your description, but it does sound like a pretty weird model. Do you also have to pay for cards on top of that?
It’s not a card game, it’s an async autobattler. As long as all the characters are roughly balanced against each other, there’s nothing to be gained other than cosmetics (at the current state of the game).
From experience with the beta and memory, your wife (and you) will be able to choose which version to play. Either yours with a ton of DLC or hers with none. You should both be able to use the version with all DLC, but not at the same time.

Can you fix this? There was enough misinformation floating around about this already when this feature went into beta.
Adults can leave a family at any time, however, they will need to wait 1 year from when they joined the previous family to create or join a new family.
it should say something like: “After joining, can’t join another for a year”
Good intentions alone don’t guarantee good outcomes. I suggest not giving any single person or entity too much power, no matter who they are.
I’m still not 100% trusting that. Any time a dev comes up with a new feature like this one, they might forget to implement a check if the game is privated (or do the check and mess up properly hiding it).
I’d argue that with their definition of bots as “a software application that runs automated tasks over the internet” and later their definition of download bots as “Download bots are automated programs that can be used to automatically download software or mobile apps.”, automated software updates could absolutely be counted as bot activity by them.
Of course, if they count it as such, the traffic generated that way would fall into the 17.3% “good bot” traffic and not in the 30.2% “bad bot” traffic.
Looking at their report, without digging too deep into it, I also find it concerning that they seem to use “internet traffic” and “website traffic” interchangeably.
On MAL and temporarily, yes. From memory, I can think of two anime that were temporarily ahead of FMA:B.
Kaguya-sama’s third season was ahead of FMA:B when it was airing in 2022. It now sits on 12th with a score of 9.02.
Pingu in the City was memed to #1 shortly before its first episode aired in 2017. It now chills in the mid-tier with a score of 6.52 on 6596th.
However, I think Kaguya was only barely ahead of FMA:B at its peak. Meanwhile Frieren is at 9.18 currently while FMA:B in 2nd place is on 9.09. That is a full 0.09 lead, which is over 10% of the way from FMA:B to a theoretical clean 10.0.
Another way to put the lead into context is by doing the next 0.09 step down from FMA:B, which lands us cleanly at 9.00. An anime with a score of 9.00 would be at 13th, between Kaguya-sama 3 (9.02) and Fruits Basket: The Final (8.98).
Edit: With the final episode done, it’s now sitting at 9.34. I will assume it’s gonna drop a bit again over time, this is still an absolutely insane score. 27% of the way between FMAB and perfect 10.0. Going from 9.34 is now a 0.25 step down to FMAB, the next 0.25 step would be down to 8.84, which would be a tie with Kimi no Na wa at 28th.
I can only repeat again how mindblowing this is. The difference between Frieren and FMAB is the same as the one between FMAB and Kimi no Na wa. And that is ignoring how much harder every 0.01 gets the closer you get to 10.0.
Even worse, a VAC ban in your game will probably transfer to your account in general. You won’t only be affected in that game, but in any games that check your VAC status.
I’m pretty sure this was already the case in some games before, depending on the netcode of the game.

If it’s a game with VAC it probably always worked as described above, but for example: People in Fall Guys did use this trick to avoid getting banned for cheating until they turned off Family Share for Fall Guys shortly after release.
The one year period of waiting after leaving one seems excessive.
It’s slightly better than that for the person who leaves. It’s a one year period starting the moment they joined the previous one. So if you’ve been part of a family for 1+ years you can join/create a new one right away.
The slot you occupied however does stay locked for an additional year.
I also have my current setup with found family and as I live close to a country border I cannot switch over properly as I have members on both sides of the border. I understand their intent is “same household”, so I do understand why this is the case, still sucks for me though.
I hope they have good separation of the logical family and the physical pc’s, It’s really annoying to resetup stuff with my partner every time one of us installs a different linux distro.
After toying around in the beta, this seems to not be an issue anymore as they seem to actually go off accounts now and not hardware anymore. It was quite frustrating in the old system though.
Without knowing any specifics of the TOS or the exact setup beyond what I could gather in this thread: generally speaking they could still send you a bill through email or otherwise.
After that, if you’re not paying up, they might be able to successfully get the money out of you through court regardless, depending on a few factors. What’s more likely for smaller sums is that they’ll just drop it and ban you though.

If we get access too all future updates, Dwarf Fortress is my clear #1 choice.
If we also assume that the game will forever have an active enough userbase that lack of players won’t be a detriment: Infinity Wars as my #2.
If we assume no updates, no mods and no guarantee of users: Tales of Maj’Eyal and probably some 4x or grand strategy game, it’s a tossup between Civ, Gal Civ, and Endless Legend, maybe even one of the Total Wars.
This exact image (without the caption-header of course) was on one of the slides for one of the machine-learning related courses at my college, so I assume it’s definitely out there somewhere and also was likely part of the training sets used by OpenAI. Also, the image in those slides has a different watermark at the bottom left, so it’s fair to assume it’s made its rounds.
Contradictory to this post, it was used as an example for a problem that machine learning can solve far better than any algorithms humans would come up with.
In Roguelikes and Roguelike-adjenct games there are also a few games that get close. (I’d even argue some totally eclipse SV/Terraria in that regard, but that depends on your definition.) Some, but not all, of them are even completely free and open source.
Off the top of my head, a few examples would include Dwarf Fortress, UnReal World and Nethack. Maybe some Space Station 13 servers if you count that too.
Overtake and MFGhost are both good if you are into racing.
Funny you say this. I’ve only kept up with Overtake but I liked everything except the actual races. Lucky for me it seems to be a character drama centered around racing as opposed to a racing anime with some drama. Especially episode 4 really won me over and from what I remember nobody did any kind of racing in that episode.
Same. This episode probably saved the anime for me. I wasn’t super feeling it after the first three episodes, but after this episode I’m back to being excited to see where it goes.
I think it would be fine as an official extension. Shipping it built-in feels weird to me.
Labor of Love award is specifically for older games that are still seeing love from the devs. I’d argue with them releasing a DLC of such quality that many people wondered if a DLC could win game of the year it deserves the nomination too.
