I’ve seen enough, go back to Reddit.
The point of a system is what it does.
Language is for communicating to other people. The other people you communicated to think you did it poorly (because you did).
It’s ok to make mistakes. It’s not ok to refuse to acknowledge them.
But NBA Jam is a game, not a bundle of perverse incentives disguised as a game.

Idk, maybe I’m over simplifying it - but I’ve known a decent amount of sexists that love Alien. I don’t think she was overly masculine, nor do I think her role was overly masculine. Idk.
Jax@sh.itjust.worksto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do males complain about female-led stories or too many female characters when the majority are still dominated by males?141·2 months agoI think it really depends on why the story has a female lead.
I think Alien is a good example, Ripley could have been male and it really wouldn’t have changed the plot that much. If I’m not mistaken Ripley actually was male at one point in the movies writing.
Doesn’t matter that the shift happened, it happened, Sigourney Weaver fucking smashed it out of the park and the rest is history.
If the story is good and happens to have a female lead, I don’t think people are actually against it. The Menu is the first movie to come to mind, I don’t think anyone said anything about the lead in that being female (although being a lead in an ensemble cast with damn near equivalent amounts of screen time is kind of meaningless). I think what people are against is blatant pandering because it usually indicates that the product is poor.
Edit: this is my limited, anecdotally rooted opinion. There are probably a decent amount of people who will just not watch a female lead. I’ve known women who won’t watch something or play a video game without a female lead or the ability to create a female character, so I assume the same has to be true for men.

Yes, it’s crazy - you won’t find anything else about it online though, Meta has scrubbed it from the net.
Spread the message as far as you can.

Doesn’t that directly contradict what Xi saying here?
Not to mention, China has its own homeless problem - let’s not act like they’re doing so much better.
Jax@sh.itjust.worksto Gaming@lemmy.ml•What game of the 2020s do you think that will top the "best games of the decade" lists in 2030?2·6 months agoAll I have to say is that I sincerely doubt that From Software and MiHoYo were looking at H:ZD when they made their very successful games. That’s my only point, you are allowed to have your opinions about H:ZD - I’m not saying that you’re wrong.
Jax@sh.itjust.worksto Gaming@lemmy.ml•What game of the 2020s do you think that will top the "best games of the decade" lists in 2030?2·6 months agoBotW completely changed the open world landscape. Yes it was a bad Zelda game, it was by no means a mediocre game. That first experience is fucking magical, and has been recreated to great effect in Elden Ring and Genshin Impact (I shouldn’t need to point out how popular both of those games are).
You can dislike that it was a bad Zelda game. Calling it mediocre is just patently false. Granted, yes - I’ve called the game ‘Horizon: Zero Awards’ because it definitely should have won at least something. However, it was not more impactful than BotW.
The fall of Rome took over two and a half centuries.
Sometimes you need to accept things are broken and move toward fixing them, not blindly stumble forward expecting everything to right itself.
I think their point is that if the people making the games were given fair compensation that they would be more willing to sacrifice IP rights.
I don’t see what makes them think that other than their own personal feelings on the matter, but I think that’s the message.
People don’t like the things they believe to be challenged, and many people fail to recognize what is a belief and what is a fact.
It’s the problem with knowing enough to not know how little you actually do (know).
You can certainly make an argument for young kids, i.e. teaching fractions and literally how to count (counting seconds).
Teenagers? No, not really. They’ll all have phones or something to tell the time by a certain age and hopefully they know their fractions / how to count. It might as well just be digital at that point.
A strawman that may actually be true, given how much poison the rich have dumped into our environment.
I mean, ok but I’m not really sure what you mean still. Who are you referring to? I mean it could be many people I suppose, but it usually depends on the memes they’re consuming.
