AmberPrince@kbin.socialto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•People outside of the USA: What are some interesting, cool, or fascinating aspects of your country you'd like to share with the world?6·1 year agoAh. The forgotten lands, according to some maps.
Zelda BotW and TotK are not fun. The stamina system is pointless and the weapon durability is frustrating. On top of that, the world’s are just sooo empty. There’s really nothing in them. Oh look, an interesting ruin… it’s another repetitive shrine. Oh, that geological formation is really unique aaannnddd it’s another fucking korok seed. That’s all you ever got for exploring. Shrines and korok seeds.
I did like slapping random shit onto my weapons in tears of the kingdom though. All in all to me the games are fine but not really Zelda games.
I live in a very red part of Florida. They’ve all been pretty nice to me. Of course, I’m white, my baby is blonde haired and blue eyed, and I’m in the military. They usually get pretty surprised when I open my mouth and start spouting crazy commie stuff like Trans Rights are Human rights.
I worked with a guy that was a hard-core conservative, like just shy or real far-right talking points. Anyway he told me he doesn’t watch the news. Not that he only watches fox news, I mean he doesn’t watch any news at all. He gets his information from Facebook and tiktok

AmberPrince@kbin.socialto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Which book in your life has had the most impact?3·2 years agoI blame my love of high fantasy on the Xanth series. First it was Xanth, then it was Redwall, now it’s my preferred form of escapism.
A pass key is the private key in a private/public key pair. The private key is stored in the TPM on your device. The website contains the public key. When you use your “one password” you’re in effect giving your device permission to access the key storage in your TPM to fetch the private key to present it to the site.
What this means in practice is that if a website has a data breach they won’t have your hashed password, only your public key which… is public. It doesn’t and can’t do anything on its own. It needs the private key, which again only you have and the website doesn’t store, to do anything at all.
If you want to read more about it look into cryptographic key pairs. Pretty neat how they work.

Ehhh… Doctors have a hell of a lot of administrative paperwork for each patient they have to do. That’s where the actual time goes. At least for Emergency Department doctors. I can’t speak to private practice docs.
The time warp only works if you take a jump to the left.

Just a guy that really likes playing old school Doom. He doesn’t do the whole exaggerated reactions or yelling or anything like that and I don’t think I’ve ever heard him plug any kind of sponsor or product. It’s great to put on in the background or just watch casually if you’re into it

You sound like a weird tomato version of Gaston.
There is no way I could handle Subnautica in VR. I was scared enough playing normally.
Does it matter? Endlessly pontificating about the true nature of reality serves no purpose. If I’m driving and I’m about to hit a tree, reality doesn’t give a single fuck if I consider “well maybe the tree isn’t really there. How can I truly know?”
Like, I was talking with a guy and he was saying shit about how can we truly know that what I say is the color green is the same as what you see? It just feels mastubatory. It’s what words are for. If that guy asks me to go to the store and buy forest green paint from a certain brand and I come back with forest green paint from that brand he’s not going to worry about whether or not we see the exact same shade.
