Why would they block that? I understand that a company might not want the reverse to happen but this just seems counterproductive
Just because I use Lemmy doesn’t mean I was able to convince anyone of my social circle to join (with lack of content as the primary reason). Building communities requires users and a lack of those is an issue with many FOSS projects.

I think it’s mostly about convenience. Most people don’t care enough and have only learned how to install chrome (if it isn’t preinstalled)

I felt that change. Everytime i used it the results in the suggestion box had nothing to do with what I was searching for.
I find it fascinating that AI development provoked the question of how our thoughts actually work and am curiously awaiting the results.
Depends on how much you pay for data. For my german mobile contract it is very nice to have content available offline. And the play in the background thing is very nice depending on the kind of video you wanna watch. I can see how those features aren’t the new sliced bread but they have their use cases
I would love for them to become colorful again. Nowadays they often look uninteresting and “old”. It’s not fun to watch something deteriorate to the point of being unrecognisable.
