PC, mostly because I like KB+M. And if it’s a game that uses a controller, I have the steam deck.

rbits@lemmy.fmhy.mlto Memes@lemmy.ml•Everyone I've talked to about joining Mastodon/Lemmy/The FediverseEnglish10·2 years agoOk but I don’t post on twitter. I only view posts on Twitter, and they’re pretty much all from relatively big people. So before I can move away, the people with big follower counts needs to move first. The only people on Mastodon that I follow are tech people. All the other people are on Twitter, Threads, or have just straight up left twitter altogether.
rbits@lemmy.fmhy.mlto Memes@lemmy.ml•Everyone I've talked to about joining Mastodon/Lemmy/The FediverseEnglish81·2 years agoYeah but it’s true. It’s better to ensure Republicans don’t win than try to get your third party in. The problem is not the mindset of the people, it’s the first past the post voting system. If they used ranked choice voting instead, it wouldn’t be a problem.
Yeah that’s probably the better one, lemmy.ml probably isn’t the best place for the communities
rbits@lemmy.fmhy.mlto Technology@beehaw.org•Kev Quirk, one of the admins of Fosstodon (a Mastodon instance), destroys Meta in an email exchange.1·2 years agoWhat? Defederating doesn’t fix that.
- Meta doesn’t join the fediverse
- Meta introduces convenient, cool and innovative features not originally on fediverse code
- Everyone wants new features, but features are locked under propietary code.
- Everyone flocks to meta’s product.
- Meta is now the fediverse and the fediverse is nothing but a husk of its former self
The solution is 1: to make sure users understand that it’s a bad idea to flock to meta’s instance, and 2: to implement that feature in the fediverse if everyone likes it so much they’re willing to leave. The solution is not defederating now because of the posibbilty that they do that in the future.

rbits@lemmy.fmhy.mlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What kinds of things from reddit would you like to see Lemmy avoid as the user base grows?1·2 years agoYeah honestly I stopped browsing AskReddit because of that. And I don’t think it was necessarily entirely the commenters’ fault, I think it was that the questions have gotten worse over time.
Yeah and it’s also too much effort for communities to band together around it every year. Someging that requires this much effort from communities should remain once every 5 years, otherwise they’ll stop participating.
Not that it even matters at this point :(
