Android has find my phone too showing the phone location and options to lock, erase or beep. And you can make the phone beep loudly regardless of it being muted. Android pay also works basically the same as Apple pay.

Edit: just noticed you want find my phone without Google. I’m not aware of any way to do that.

As a hapoy FairPhone owner that uses their SO’s iPhone, I can tell you thst you will notice a reduced polish in your phone. The camera (both hardware and software) while OK just doesn’t compare. The payment NFC is super sensitive, while mine feels way for finicky. The sound quality is night and day. The battery life is also a bit worse.

But in general there’s nothing my SO does that I can’t, which the added benefit that I can sideload apps.

I can only check transactions. Any actions require the app.

Some banks require you to have a phone app now. I know mine is app only.

Unfortunately with security apps like banking, being able to run android apps is only one of the roadblocks.

Maybe they shouldn’t have given exclusive access to Google. Bing and all Bing-based engines stopped being able to show Reddit results. So now Google has a monopoly on reddit results. Reddit is just learning the shitty effect of monopolies and it serves them right.
