I only rated this book 2/5 stars. I don’t remember it much, but now I’m wondering if I somehow missed the point of it.
A friend of mine told me that when he worked at a grocery store as a teenager that he always liked being tasked with rounding up the grocery carts in the parking lot because he got to go outside and be by himself for a bit. I think about that a lot, but I also return my cart.

I felt similarly midway through, but I ended up finishing it and I’m glad that I did. The technology references become less prevalent as the book progresses with the story focung more in the human element and relationships of the characters. I didn’t think it was an amazing book and was a bit surprised that it got the hype that it did, but it was still an enjoyable read to the end that I gave a 4/5.
If you decide to give the show a try know that season 1 can be a little rough, so try to power through to season 2
