I think what they are getting at is that Meta does this and they find it likely Microsoft might be doing something similar.

This. Mu father and grandfather in law are mathematitians. I never liked or enjoyed math but they make it ao damn interesting when talking about it. It’s a real shame I never had a teacher with such passion and talent for it.

illi@lemm.eeto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to tell the difference between being burnt out and just being lazy?English1·1 month agoFair enough. I was not going for “it’s evolutionary, so let’s just do nothing”. The whole argument herr is thay laziness doesn’t exist, because there is a root cause. Well, this is just semantics really. Being lazy is not wanting to do something. Is there a root cause behind it? Sure. If you go far enough it’s just biology (allegedly).
Does tiredness not exist? There is usually a root cause to you being tired.
I feel like this “lazyness doesn’t exists” is there just because being lazy has negative conotations. I think being lazy is good. Sometimes you do need to wind down and save what energy you have. This ofc shouldn’t be an excuse to not do anything ever. There is something as too much of a good thing and all that.
illi@lemm.eeto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to tell the difference between being burnt out and just being lazy?English1·1 month agoAs I said, not an expert on this topic. But I feel like you are combining two different things.
Doing dishes is persumably something you don’t enjoy and your survival is not dependent on it -> you conserve energy.
Boredom, I think, comes from the brain not having enough stimuli.
I see it as two different things. But you are better of asking someone who knows more.
illi@lemm.eeto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to tell the difference between being burnt out and just being lazy?English6·1 month agoI’m not an expert, just read it somewhere. But I’d guess it might be because our current lives are miles away from the ones we evolved for and may not get the stimuli we require.
illi@lemm.eeto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to tell the difference between being burnt out and just being lazy?English5·1 month agoIsn’t lazyness just evolutionary trait? The need to conserve energy?
Eating junk food mostly
illi@lemm.eeto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What dungeon/temple in a video game has a great ambient experience, with music or visual appeal or both?English7·1 month agoYour original title didn’t say anything about games though. The Tower of London dungeons don’t come with a soundtrack.
Or maybe you just disabled music in settings and forgot?
illi@lemm.eeto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What would you do with a single use portal gun?English2·3 months agoI imagined it being thick enoug to not bend easily. But I guess if it could, either the portal would somehow prevent it or expire
illi@lemm.eeto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What would you do with a single use portal gun?English1·3 months agoWell then I fucked up I guess :D don’t remember this detail
illi@lemm.eeto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What would you do with a single use portal gun?English13·3 months agoBest use would be to get two steel plates or something, of apropriate dimensions for portals and shoot them there. Now I have two portals I can move as I please and where I please
I’m a layman in terms if AI but I think it can be a useful tool, if used in proper context. I use it when I struggle to find something by regular internet search. The fact you can search in a conversational style and specify as you go on what you need is great.
I feel it is pushed into contexts where it has no place and where it’s usefulness is limited or counterproductive.
Then there is the question of the inproper use of copyrighted material which is terrible
illi@lemm.eeto Gaming@lemmy.ml•The beatings will continue until the skill improvesEnglish2·4 months agoAgreed, but adjusting tactics often is part of the puzzle, no? You need to solve the puzzle (find out what work = changing tactics) and then executing that solution
Oh, totally. It’s just not as bad as you thought
OP cites how she’s 10 years younger than him, making her 12
Read it this way at first too but no - she is 22 and 10 years younger than OP, so OP is 32.

I mean… technically, yes, we all do good and bad stuff.
But you can’t say Hitler was a good person just because he was against animal cruelty. I don’t think any person out there is cartoonishly evil to a point they never did anything good - that doesn’t make those evil persons not evil.
