  • Matrix is still in my “recommend” category for real time federation. With third room still being the coolest example of what that can mean so far. They build on the same libs that make Peertube work too for the video sharing aspect (not the video metadata sharing and socials that all ActivityPub).

I’m really excited to see dendrite make it to client devices for real p2p servers, maybe even as a micro service deployment. I do want to try out the Conduwuit too.

That said the metadata leakage is an issue to me and consider that a serious flaw depending on your threat model, and you want to extra steps to preserve your identity from an untrusted matrix network and/or stick to a private one you trust

  • I had a systemd unit that ran it weekly after the update one ran. I feel like the default behavior though should be automatic purge old unused runtimes though too. I don’t see why that wouldn’t the case to me.

I’ve even gone so far as wanting to force run time changes underneath the packs because of Caves and such, but thats my niche and puts security over function.

Definitely not a free lunch sys admin wise, but it is still a marked improvement over native apps 98% of the time for me.

  • I will say, the Le Chat provider is pretty decent. You really can use it more natural language. “Rewrite it with a better rhyme scheme” “remove the last line” and it just got it.

Why no local option though? Why no anonmysing option?

Edit: There is a right click option which does make this officially actually useful for me now (summarize this!).

Other models do have RAG options and Mist real supports making agents with specified documentation too to at least fine tune too (not as good as full grounding though IMHO)
