  • Another “Steam Deck is the reason” failure to cover the fact that once Steam Deck dies out it’s users also leave. Valve has awful hardware history and Steam Deck itself only runs games because they are the ones paying for Proton. It should not be controlled by a company that is known to make you lose your games.

  • Not the strongest because Steam Machines with Alienware had problems and way too early during development of Proton that games couldn’t handle well. The controller was stolen IP and is still currently fighting the lawsuit. VR games are not great as people expected and rarely do new VR games arrived. Leaving the VR headset in storage for mostly the owners life. Lastly, the Steam Deck original has problems and announced updates or free ifix fixes just to not have drifting problems. Still the Steam Deck after the original has some issues with compatibility and deleting their data every update.

The company has poor track records for hardware. Valve is like the Sony of gaming, they lie about stuff and make you sign up to download the game in their closed ecosystem.

  • As someone who was during those times, your Zgen knowledge is very incorrect. The games did work, including Crisis (original). As to why the myth you hear from fellow Zgen gamers; it’s because graphics cards were invented. Brand new, no one knew what they were doing with them. The companys Renzen and Nvidia started sponsoring games, it’s how they became popular, their logos were part of the game, Metal Gear Solid revengeance is proof of this.

Steam had no part in gaming history, they were not the first online platform. Dell made wild target before Valve Corporation was founded. Lootbox was invented before Steam launched it, Yahoo games (anyone remember them) in japan had the concept down to almost todays standards. Valve had nothing to do with gaming history, they are just known for their lawsuits and anti competitive behavior.

    1. People say you’ll be able to play games
You don’t play games, it’s a false statement. Linux limitations restrict your access to many games.

    2. Batteries are better
      No, they were average

    3. Buy anywhere
No, you can’t EU had to wait entire year and Asia is exclusively for a unknown 3rd party market.

    4. Use as a office PC
Nope, you’re not going anywhere with that tiny screen to type stuff for work. Additional hardware is required.

    5. Offline play
Still under DRM rules for games and still 30 days requirement to authenticate your ownership.

    It’s overhyped jackass

  • Steam deck closed Source = yes
Proof it’s not? Tell me, i know you won’t find it because it’s not open source.

Proton the reason for the ability to play windows games = yes
You can’t play windows games on Linux, unless you’re telling me otherwise.

Steam Deck has problems with smaller Linux operating environments = yes
Big Linux operating environments will always have users who support steam deck unlike smaller communities. Also, Linux that do everything to protect your privacy will never allow steam deck to function because YOU AGREE IN STEAM USER AGREEMENT. To allow the program to track you.

    Valve Corporation lawsuit = yes
All current and past criminal cases here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valve_Corporation

Anyone here who is wrong, it’s you.

  • Steam deck is lock down, so many problems would be solved if they opened source it. Proton is a software and not the reason Steam Deck is able to run games. You can install Wine and the same result will happen. No you couldn’t install any Linux, many tried.

Trusting billionaires yes what a great answer. Why not trust Amazon, Facebook and X CEOs aswell. If you think Gable is innocent then you are ignoring the many lawsuits Valve corporations committed.
