Right? The data they can collect there is pretty much entirely useless unless they can also gather the location of last connection. But even then, not terribly helpful.

• Debian for stable.
• Fedora if you want a bit more bleeding edge.
• Arch for desktop/laptops.

I’ll still be using Fedora. But i’m a RHEL Engineer soo… kinda makes sense to stick with it. I don’t see this really having much of an effect on me.

What does this have to do with fedora? Fedora is actively supported by redhat I doubt you’re going to see any changes with this. This really only affects redhat alternate distros like rocky.

Bro same. It’s almost like FOMO. There’s just so much content out there that I feel overwhelmed just trying to parse through what I’d actually want in an RSS feed and terrified i’m missing actual important stuff.

But if you are pulling all the data to your instance by subscribing, wouldn’t this actually alleviate some of the load on the original instance? Obviously not as much as if you were hosting the content yourself, but still moreso than if you were directly interfacing with their instance?

Or am I completely wrong there. I don’t have a firm grasp of how content stored/cached between instances.

Definitely needs a mobile app for collapsing comments, etc but installing on mobile through the browser works quite well.

Being able to collapse comments is definitely a must have feature for me. Hope we get to see that soon.

Honestly, I joined lemmy.ml first before really taking a look at the ideals of most of that userbase and I just do not agree with a large part of what they identify with.

Bounced around to a few other instances that all seemed… Idk not the right fit. But kbin so far seems much more my style and I finally now got an account created so we’ll see how it goes.
