Reading through the replies and I have to say ya’ll don’t take prisoners here. sheesh.
Anyway, I went through went through the community in question and reviewed not only the posts in the community and the comments made by the mods of the community and they weren’t aligned with the kind of negativity I want to see on the instance. I have since purged the community and the mods.
Hey all,
This community is being reviewed and will likely be a discussion point to in our Agora community where we discuss about issues like this as a community.
Post that are breaking rules will be removed. If its a regular occurrence so will the TheDonald community. Please continue reporting inappropriate posts and its difficult to maintain visibility on everything that is going on at all times.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
No matter the outcome, you are still a hero. Kudos to you.
I’d second this. Knowing that the back-end is built on Rust was definitely big part of drove my excitement for this project!
Got this completed! Looks like the merge request was accepted and merged into the main already. Thanks for giving the heads up.
Will have this done before the end of the day! I will be adding support for the French language as well to accommodate french speaking individuals as well!
I’ll be submitting my instance to be considered to the recommended list. I’ve thrown a nice amount of resources at my lemmy instance and i’m pretty excited to see how it will handle the extra load that is expected!
I don’t disagree with videos not being hosted on lemmy itself however I think there needs to be some more complete solutions.
For example one solution could be to build an API integration with the peertube platform and provide a method within the users profile to setup the API integration with their preferred peertube service. We want to avoid as much as possible people having to leave one platform to do a task on another platform to than come back to the original platform to post a link. This will discourage a lot of people from posting a lot their content due to it being not unified.
Does Lemmy have another location aside from their issues to post future feature requests? I couldn’t find a proper place to share some constructive feedback.
I’m looking forward to the increase in traffic tbh. I have setup a pretty beefy instance with a ton of monitoring on it so that hopefully after the wave I can create a nice write up on what it would take to scale lemmy in the future. I’ll keep everyone updated with the results!
I setup my own instance and will be doubling the resources allocated to it before the 12th. Ill be documenting how it handles whatever is sent my way
I’ve been following this incident and this looks like the most plausible explanation. The pilot was not alone and was carrying passengers. A tragic incident. I look forward to see what the investigations brings to light.
For those old enough, we’ve been through something similar before with Digg. Now its reddit’s time. I believe Lemmy might be the most logical next step
