Desktop support huh? Look around your town for little tiny MSPs. There are 3 or so in my little city (I work at one of them) and I’ve been begging them to hire a tier 1 tech for years. We’re busier than HELL. They insist we “can’t afford one” but we’ll be able to afford 3 as soon as one of the “partners” finally retires soon.

If you’re ok doing remote-tool desktop support and know what you’re doing, I have no doubt you’re worth $20/hr.

Even if there’s no listing or “We’re hiring” sign in the window, I say take a chance and walk in to ask.
In the mean time, have you considered putting an ad on craigslist/etc? Best of luck to you fellow geek.

It’s all trash. Everything normal people use on a daily basis is pure dumpster fire level garbage with massive, HEINOUS, unforgivable amounts of tracking built in.

Hey- sorry to revive a very old conversation, but this evening I was updating my pihole server and noticed there weren’t any changes/additions to Quidsup’s notrack block list- so I started looking around and realized I hadn’t seen a video from him in years either.

Do you know what became of him? I used to really enjoy his stuff and it’s like he just left the internet.

These days something like that would make my whole week.

That switches you to a phone app platform that hides the ads but records everything about you from your telemetry and sells it.

You can make any dumb American do anything you want if you lead with a threat.

The very instant they are threatened, any tiny amount of critical thought they ever had instantly goes out the proverbial window.

With windows “365” on the way, celebration now would be pretty damn ironic.
