I’m a big proponen5 of bazzite. Been daily driving it on my laptop for well over a year (check my post history for details). Never needed to go into the command line to fix anything, never needed to worry about drivers. Immutable distros are great for the overwhelming majority of all computer users. Most people want a computer that lets them web browser, game, consume media, and do application based productivity like editing (documents, photos, illustrations, video, etc.). In fact, that was too generous of a description because most people just consume content.

If your distro requires cli for regular usage and requires manual maintenance, it’s only suitable for computer adepts, which is a small minority of all computer users. You are not the average computer user. No one on this site is. If you can’t see that then you aren’t in touch with reality.

You PAY them for their operating system and then they SPY on your computer interactions. You buy their product and then you become their product as they make money off of tailoring ads to you based on where your mouse moves, what you click on, the contents of the files that you upload to OneDrive (that they then use to train Copilot with).

They’re doing that themselves. An E5 M365 license gave you a home page where you could access web versions of all the office apps (word, PowerPoint, excel). All the things an office worker would need.

Now the home page is copilot. All the sidebar buttons are copilot agents.

It’s only when you scroll down all the way and click the tiny “all apps” button at the bottom do you find a place where all the office apps are.

I know the Meta Quest 3 and 3s have this feature built in. For PCVR with other headsets, often games have this feature built in. Usually it’s called “comfort mode” or something similar. It’s a standard in VR UX.
