Our little dog used to let out these long, shuddering sighs when she was frustrated. I used to repeat it back to her, and picked up the habit. Even though we had to put her down a year and a half ago, I still occasionally let out her sigh.

Every time I take a day off midweek, it feels like doubling the number of weeks in the week, rather than reducing the number of days.

I deleted when I heard they were levying an inactivity fee in Canada.
I don’t live in Canada, but that was a shit move.

It’s a little confusing. Their site says it’s open to UN member nations.
Their NEWDEV bond ticker symbol doesn’t show up on any of my normal haunts.

It’s like yelling. Nobody pays attention if you do it all the time.
I’m sure many have seen it, but Kersgezat recently put out video that opened my eyes to the less-obvious benefits of exercise.

As a guess, an environmentalist group is probably adapting it from that terminology.

Never really looked into it before.
Now I downloaded it.
Google’s strategy seems to have backfired, in my case.
It entirely depends on the context.
The simple answer is that my favorite country is where my employment and loved ones are, the USA.
For travel, Probably Spain. I’ve always felt that the mix of relaxation and adventure is perfect there. I’ve always loved southern Chile, but it’s a bit too rural to feel entirely comfortable. There’s always this awareness of how much trouble I’d be in if I screwed anything up.

My towel was still in the dryer. That would have been an annoying way to start the week.
OhmsLawn@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•It's Sunday night, how do you beat the Sunday Night Blues?42·9 months agoGet to bed on time so I can face the Monday blues on 8 hours sleep.

Find a way to reduce calories over the next 20 years, spend as little as possible. Borrow a little money for your car. Stay away from credit cards until you make enough to pay the cards in full every month. Keep track of every skill you learn on the job, using that information to transition into higher-paying jobs. Get a savings account. Spend as little as possible without skimping on food quality. Save 1 months salary and keep that in checking. At the end of each month, transfer everything above the target funds into savings. Save 3 months salary for an emergency fund. Once this financial foundation is established, divide additional funds into two buckets: one gets invested each month, the other is for major purchases and travel.

I also have to mention that I was half joking. I don’t use YT all that much for my profession. I would, but it’s just not entirely relevant.
OhmsLawn@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you inform yourself on topics which don't belong to your field of expertise?91·10 months agoThe same way as topics in my field of expertise, of course.
YouTube.

If I have the choice between composting or recycling paper, would it not be better to recycle than compost?

Are we talking gay or gay?
That word gets thrown around a lot without actually meeting homosexual. Most of the time it’s just used as a tasteless replacement for lame.
