  • Oh for sure. I usually wait 1-3 years before buying games so that I can grab em on sale. It’s really quite rare that Nintendo games go on sale, though. So it’s kinda tough when you want to eventually play them.

I’ll sometimes buy games new, but as it is, most of my purchases are during sales. I’ve been mostly playing old titles. It just surprises me when I see statistics of Nintendo running out of pre-orders etc.

  • The thing that is incredibly frustrating for me is the rising cost of games. Nintendo of all companies is starting the big push for raised game prices. Frankly, I can’t afford that. It was a stretch for games prior to this. But now I can’t justify it.

Games are currently $80 CAD. In some rare cases $90CAD. If they were bumped up by inflation from 2019 to today. Games would roughly be $96.Still hurts, but alright, sure, I get it.

But Nintendo wants to jack up games to $115 CAD. That’s a massive jump of $35 or 43% if my math is correct. And somehow, people seem to be able to afford this? It feels like I’m trapped in some kind of bubble where I’m just working poor while everyone else is making their money somehow go much further than I can.

I’m working full time, but I am supporting my family. I don’t have kids. I make well above minimum wage. I just don’t get how people are making this work unless they’re all just taking on extreme levels of debt

  • My concern at this point is that when people eventually reclaim power and overthrow the dictatorship, the other members that willfully participated in all of this will not be held accountable and will get away free, or even worse will be allowed back into a democratic government again.

I’m kinda skipping over the majority of the timeline here. But eventually, these people need to be held accountable for the countless crimes they have committed and the worse crimes that have yet to come. The majority of the republican party should see prison for life at this rate.

  • So interestingly enough. I work, play, and sleep in the exact same 5 feet nowadays. But I remember that initial feeling all too well from when I graduated and found work.

Similar to what someone else said, I’m always exhausted. I don’t think that feeling really goes away. I think the difference is that eventually, you kind of get used to the exhaustion. It doesn’t feel good by any means. But my brain has given into it and adapted slightly. I still hate it, but I’ve kind of adapted.

Do you drink coffee? I resisted it for a few years and then eventually gave in when I realized I wasn’t able to function well without it. Mainly because I’m sacrificing sleep during the week. Partly due to bedtime procrastination, and also partly due to stress/anxiety. During the week, I’m getting about 6 hours of sleep each night. Not enough, in my opinion

It also depends on what the rest of your schedule looks like outside of work. When I had to work in the office, I was losing an extra 2-3 hours of my day every day.

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way, though. It’s not a very fun time. I wish everyone could have a better work-life balance

  • I’ve been playing Grounded recently. I’ve been finding it pretty fun, even when played solo. Although some aspects were a bit confusing or felt slightly padded (likely due to playing solo). I have also been wanting to get back into monster hunter wilds so I’ll likely try that again soon. It’s been a lot of fun as well but oooh those menus on menus can get overwhelming.

I’ve been very curious about the switch 2 and the price increases that will likely hit the market. I’m slightly afraid they might try to jack up prices on existing games, so I’m debating if I should snag some now or hold off. I’ve wanted to play some of the xenoblades and the newest Mario party!

  • If the price on games is actually what people are saying it’s going to be? And it never drops? Nah I wouldn’t buy. I agree it feels…disrespectful to their fans.

It would have to be the best animal crossing or zelda game in the past 20 years. And I would have to ensure I’m getting it for cheaper in some way, shape, or form.

I certainly wouldn’t be buying it directly for full price. Likely used or something. I don’t have the money to justify that kind of purchase. The console price I can kind of understand, but the games seems ridiculous. I have a backlog of titles to play, and I only buy when I can get a sale or a discount. Heck, the rpg’s I haven’t gotten around to on the switch 1 would probably last me 5 years alone lol

If I had to guess, I bet they’ll reduce the cost of the console within a year.

They might decide against charging so much for their games? That might be less likely but they haven’t confirmed the game prices yet

  • I’m really curious how the rumored price increases on games will change the entire market (if any). Currently, I have no plans on getting a switch 2 until either a must-have exclusive pops up or until there’s some price drops. I just don’t see how they can expect the average family to be able to afford the new games.

Then, on top of this, slap tarrifs on for Americans and oof I feel for you all right now. It’s… unprecedented territory we’re in right now. I hope things stabilize soon
