Same as it went for HDDVD, Laserdisc, and BetaMax.

The anti-porn conservatives have always been about controlling women.
That woman who founded OnlyFans driving around in 10 different Lamborghinis, that’s their worst fucking nightmare.
Before that, it was that one lady whose husband died and then she discovered massive oil reserves under her land.
That kind of stuff is an existential threat to the patriarchy, which conservative control freaks must preserve at any cost.
They cannot allow women to become self-sufficient and thereby self-determinative. Otherwise, who will take care of the men, and raise the men’s babies?

Is it job insecurity or is it travel?
My understanding is that traveling nurses make very good money. Obviously there’s more to life than money though.
I’m sure you don’t have to leave medicine to make good money and have a different working arrangement. There are all sorts of alternative non-nursing jobs for nurses. How do you see there’s administration, insurance, consulting, or even just continuing to search for the situation that you want.
The question is not would it be more beneficial, it’s what do you want to do? Do you want to be a nurse at all? Did you rush into it because a guidance counselor told you it’s a great career path?
I have two friends in cyber security and I could not tell you what they do but they both seem to make very good money without working very hard, but they’ve both also been computer nerds since the 90’s.

The West Bank has no water? If they have money to fire a thousand rockets a month at Israel, why not spend some of that on the water infrastructure?
Can you understand Israel’s position without supporting it? I do.

Here’s a link for you. Just listen to it with headphones and try to say the phrases out loud along with her (or repeating after her if there are pauses between them). Nice female voice for you even.
You do not have to believe these phrases as you say them. It’s like when someone says “don’t think about a horse,” and because humans are so silly, we immediately think of a horse.
You say these things and the phrases are stated in such a way that they trick your subconscious into believing. People say it even works if you play these through headphones as you sleep, because your subconscious brain still hears a lot of it. Your brain is already affecting you with things that are not true, “I’m a total loser” “I’ll never have any friends” “I should not have moved to this city.” Whatever.
Doing things feels hard because you’re avoiding the emotions that come from negative thoughts about the thing you want to do, and what those negative thoughts might mean about you. It’s a trap. If your brain is saying shit to you like “should/shouldn’t have” or “always/never” it’s cue right away that whatever your brain is saying is not true. Positive affirmations will help.

Listen don’t worry about meeting someone. Just go out and make friends in person. Literally you can just go to the same public place every day and meet all the regulars. Helps if it’s some kind of group activity or knowledge sharing activity. Get into something and make some friends; if you keep at it you’ll meet someone that makes each other’s parts will tingle. And if not you’ll have a bunch of friends.
All life is suffering. You can suffer the discomfort of loneliness or the discomfort of rejection. Probably at the end of the day they are equally uncomfortable but one of these options has the advantage of solving itself over time.
Another pro tip is to fill your head with positive, affirmative thoughts. Spend ten minutes in the morning repeating a lot of statements such as “I have conquered my fear of public speaking many times over; I love how I feel after a day of hard work; everywhere I go people smile at me.”
Use someone else’s list or write your own. Any thoughts you have that makes you feel empowered, write them down. If you spend some time on this in the morning, when your brain inevitably starts talking shit later in the day, it’s going to have these positive affirmations right at its finger tips. You WILL find that two things start to happen: you have fewer, negative, intrusive thoughts, and when you do have them, they won’t be as disruptive to whatever your plans and goals are. It really works. If you follow along with a premade positive affirmations video on YouTube, I guarantee you will notice results the same day. 10 to 30 minutes every morning. Will change your life.
【J】【u】【s】【t】【Z】@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What did you do to survive the night of/after a breakup?10·2 years agoYou are 31. You’re going to reinvent yourself many more times. This feeling is very temporary.
Runs fine for me. Reduced some settings. It’s a game built for the best right now, and for the future. Lot of potential.
Hmmm, I think mine are paper materials. I’ll have to look more closely.
Got a box of alcohol wipes made by Zeiss, specially for cleaning camera lenses and the like. Works great on glasses.
I always said that too but I really just wanted to continue being stimulated.
What has helped me is to realize that my brain keeps working at night when.
Recently I was working on a project with my son involving some engineering and construction and I came up with an idea at like 9:00 pm and thought about it until 11:30 pm while I tinkered with it but I could not make it work right. The next morning it was like my hands knew exactly what to do and I built it immediately and it worked the first try.
Try acting like your brain’s boss or its commanding officer. Tell it what to do. If you’re having trouble shutting down your brain when it’s coming up in bed time, give it a direct order: “okay conscious brain, it is time for you to stop what you are doing and go to sleep now. Unconscious brain is going to take over on this problem while you are resting.”
For real, your brain needs to sleep. It uses night time to assimilate the days memories so you can recall them later, and it uses that time to process and understand concepts and make predictions.
Thats voice is the whole thing.
Meditation is the act of quieting that voice.
The more you practice it, the easier it becomes.
There’s a lot of ways to meditate (a lot of ways to quiet the voice). Have to practice them.
The advantage is that the next time you are being distracted by those thoughts at a time when distraction is unhelpful, you will more naturally and easily quiet your mind and resume your focus.
It’s like practicing to control your thoughts. Think of it like walking the dog. It’s going to pull at first. Gotta keep walking.
I’m not sure I understand this reference.
That’s all I could figure, too.
Also, TIL, the company that make airship for the Nazis still makes them for Goodyear.
God dern Pinkertons.

“This will blow over.”
It always blows over until it doesn’t. Only take once.
The smartest people I’ve ever met pause for at least five seconds before answering direct questions. Some for much longer. There’s a Supreme Court justice who I’m told pauses for like 25 seconds or more anytime she’s asked a question.
