Again, you have problems.

Firstly: https://apnews.com/article/jeffrey-epstein-florida-e2a4431f7319afd037023d9a586aa291
He plead guilty to sex trafficking, so we’re past evidence, he wasn’t convicted of a crime because he admitted it openly.
Secondly, I watched the short, I get it, changes very little, especially given the special treatment by prosecutors.
InvertedParallax@lemm.eeto World News@beehaw.org•Virginia Giuffre, who accused Britain's Prince Andrew in Epstein sex trafficking scandal, has committed suicide4·22 days agoMy issue is your position denies the overwhelming presence and patterns of malfeasance shown thus far in this case.
If I found a dead body in the cell of a convicted serial killer, it would not be an unreasonable supposition to draw that the serial killer was involved.
InvertedParallax@lemm.eeto World News@beehaw.org•Virginia Giuffre, who accused Britain's Prince Andrew in Epstein sex trafficking scandal, has committed suicide3·22 days ago…
Are you kidding?
Virginia Giuffre’s WHOLE LIFE had been nothing but foul play!
If you look up Foul Play in the dictionary her picture as a kid should come up.
Benefit of the doubt exists until violated, we are infinitely past that barrier, that’s like suggesting “I wonder if 9/11 wasn’t an accident” after OBL took credit for it.

InvertedParallax@lemm.eeto Linux@lemmy.ml•If you have to pick only one Desktop Environment and use it till your computer breaks, what would you choose?2·2 months agoI mean, they added a ton of features, especially minor or niche ones, but a lot of amazing ones like KDEConnect too.
But what makes KDE the best is that the features don’t get in the way of core functionality anymore, the basic DE is always safe and they generally layer stuff on such that it doesn’t break anything.
So basically the opposite of most of modern software nowadays.
InvertedParallax@lemm.eeto Linux@lemmy.ml•If you have to pick only one Desktop Environment and use it till your computer breaks, what would you choose?5·2 months agoWas on KDE 2, KDE 3 was absolutely incredible, ran it on Mac when it was supported on xquartz.
4 was a mess, but got better, 5 & 6 are fine, but it’s overall far better than any other DE, it’s just so customizable, the only other thing that comes close is xmonad or something.

Fw.
Bought the 1st Gen, it had issues with power management, but I pulled the board and put it in one of their cases and threw in a 7840u, it’s a monster and just slays.
Their new Gen has discrete GPUs as an option if you have more money than sense.

You’re saving on GPU processing, but that’s unlikely to be that much for browsing.

We lost so much in the last decade, maybe a few new shooters can help bring things back.
InvertedParallax@lemm.eeto World News@beehaw.org•"We need warriors, gunmen, stormtroopers:" Russia revives Soviet-style youth indoctrination as it eyes ‘forever war’ with Ukraine and the West1·8 months agoYeah, it is.
But I don’t know what to tell you, the term predates the nazis by quote a bit.
They adopted it, but it was known from the age of dragoons: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shock_troops
The sacred band of thebes were considered shock troops, and I’d suggest that’s closer to what the Russian idiots meant.
But I also wouldn’t be surprised if they were just copying the nazis without knowing.
InvertedParallax@lemm.eeto World News@beehaw.org•"We need warriors, gunmen, stormtroopers:" Russia revives Soviet-style youth indoctrination as it eyes ‘forever war’ with Ukraine and the West1·8 months agoA storm trooper is a member of storm troops, also called shock troops, which are trained for sudden assaults. They carried out attacks in World War I and in World War II, and they were a politica militia of the Nazi party (see Sturmabteilung or Brownshirts). The English storm troops is a direct translation of the German Sturmtruppen.
https://www.dictionary.com/browse/storm-trooper
They were called storm troopers because they were the ones who stormed trenches during an assault.
It wasn’t considered a bad thing then, they were considered the elite.
InvertedParallax@lemm.eeto World News@beehaw.org•"We need warriors, gunmen, stormtroopers:" Russia revives Soviet-style youth indoctrination as it eyes ‘forever war’ with Ukraine and the West2·8 months agoIt’s a commonly used term now, just like Assault Rifle from Sturmgewehr.
It’s become verbed, like googling.
InvertedParallax@lemm.eeto World News@beehaw.org•"We need warriors, gunmen, stormtroopers:" Russia revives Soviet-style youth indoctrination as it eyes ‘forever war’ with Ukraine and the West3·8 months agoSturmtruppen was the German word for ‘assault troops’, much like sturmgewehr is their word for ‘assault rifle’ which was adopted by everyone else.
It means troops to storm a position, the heaviest troops for assaults.
We’d call them assault forces, or honestly, just marines (amphibious assault corps).
Hitler had a bunch of paramilitary followers (think Trump and his Jan 6 crowd) called the sturmabteilingen (sp?), which translated to storm troopers, because he thought it sounded impressive.
He later betrayed and murdered them, to curry favor with the army, which is so Hitler.
You think that’s bad, wait for the giraffes.
