DiscoShrew@lemmy.sdf.orgto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What video game have you played the most, that you think is garbage and no one else should ever play?English2·2 years agoMordhau. Terrible toxic community, developers that cater only to the super hard core players. Content droughts… Yet I somehow stuck 500+ hours on it. Playing the lute was nice though.

DiscoShrew@lemmy.sdf.orgto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are your niche hobbies you’d like to share with other people?English411·2 years agoThis could be niche, but I’m a fountain pen nerd. I love stationary, different types of papers inks and nibs and how they all influence the writing experience.

After hopping around from PopOs, Debian, and EndeavourOS, I’ve been settled on Opensuse tumbleweed for a couple years. Have no desire to change because it does everything I want and YAST is awesome.
I think the presently smaller user base makes it easier to feel comfortable posting and talking, plus I feel as if many could be motivated to participate more because of the ideals the community upholds through FOSS. It certainly feels good to post here, a more guilt free experience.
A year or so ago, Capture One hinted at having a linux version, but they’ve since deleted the comments suggesting that “something was in the works”. If they did, they’d have a monopoly in the linux-space for photo editing I think. Darktable is great FOSS software, but it does have a learning curve.
Plus Geeko is the cutest mascot!
I’ve been musing over it since they made the RK3588 processor module for it. That’s a much more widely used chip and there should be more documentation on it floating around. I just love the idea of open source hardware, and the replaceable battery cells are neat. I love the thick form factor too. I’m good with computers but I’m not a wizard or anything, which is my hesitation. I know the Reform NEXT is supposed to be more user friendly, but a framework is a more sensible option for a “normal” usecase. But it doesn’t have the pizaaz the reform does.
