My HL2270DW has been working flawlessly for nearly 10 years now.
Connects to any PC/mac on my home network. Always prints correctly. Toners are dirt cheap
Is OP using a 1998 cannon printer or something?
CobraChicken@lemmy.cato Linux@lemmy.ml•Why don't more people use desktop Linux? I have a theory you might not like21·2 years agoHe’s right, most people don’t install an OS. They use whatever it comes with.
CobraChicken@lemmy.cato Firefox@lemmy.ml•It's not just Adobe. Now Logitech wants me to go to a random website in order to add peripherals to my computer, and I'm met with this when I go to the page they tell me to258·2 years agoI can sort of see the reason behind it. If they’re hosting the manual then they can keep it updated (typos/mistakes/changes etc.). Printed manuals can become outdated by the time it reaches the buyer.
What they should’ve done instead was to include a printed version, and then add a QR code to see the latest version online. That would’ve been very handy
Totally! Not just that, the user base also feels different, sorta how reddit was before it became mainstream

People make fun of Xbox fand Windows for having non sequential names, and iPhone gets berated for having a naming scheme that’s sensical, easy to follow and date

Good on EU to force their hand, we should be cheering for regulatory agencies making life better for consumers.
I have tried all of the ones on Android.
Wefwef / Voyager is extremely impressive for what it is - webapp
However it and all of the other android apps glitch a lot. I’m on a pixel 7 pro so it’s not a legacy hardware issue either
Sync is by far the best app by a large margin. Everything has a high degree of polish. UX design is perfect, though I may be biased since I’ve been using it for reddit for the past decade.
Sync only has ads on the post pages, may be once every 10-15 posts. No ads on the comment page. Honestly it’s got the little Google ads that are not a big deal at all
If you’d like you can remove ads for $30 but honestly it’s not a big enough issue at all
Oh wow good to see you here! I remember you from the early days when we had less than 6k subs there!
It used to be such a fun, vibrant and exciting hobby and community. It so sad to see how regulations basically strangled the life out of it. It’s very nice to see familiar usernames pop up here and there!
Hey OP why don’t you start by sharing your donation receipts to Lemmy?
Hey are you db2 from reddit who used to be into vapes?
Everybody spies. Its not possible to maintain my privacy 100% and still keep the same QoL
Sync definitely is far superior. $2 and change per month is more than reasonable to keep developing an app I use so much.
CobraChicken@lemmy.cato Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Android users, What's stopping you from switching to iPhone?3·2 years agoBack gesture / design
Whatsapp portability. Last time I checked Whatsapp data couldn’t be moved to Android. I have a decade of chat history id like to preserve.
Integration with Google Photos. I am not switching to icloud or any other. Google Photos is just way too good. I can even search photos with text!
Notification system. I’m not entirely happy with how android does it, but apple does it worse.
Charging port. All my cables are USB C that charge both my phone and iPad. I’m not thrilled about getting 3 more chargers and cables.
App prices. Android has great KeePass clients for cheap / free. I use strongbox on my iPad which is like $30 a year

Just shout it out every few minutes in a public place to find other lemmings
CobraChicken@lemmy.cato Technology@beehaw.org•In response to the disastrous Spez AMA, /r/Videos have announced that they will permanently shut down on 11th June, one day ahead of the planned blackout10·2 years agoI wish the blackout was different.
Keep all the subs open, but suspend all but the sitewide rules.
All the subreddits would’ve been filled with off topic content, spam and advertising. It would’ve been far more annoying to the average user.
Or have been up all night crying and fighting and making up
