This is what I use Goodreads for… I’m constantly adding new books to to ‘want to read’ list, and I generally add them faster than I’m reading, so I never run out. And when I do get to a time when there’s nothing on the ‘want to read’ list that I want to read at that moment, I’ll come to Lemmy and look at a ‘books’ community and there’s always a ‘what’s everyone reading’ thread where I can find something good.

This is the truth. The pandemic really messed up my house because we stopped cleaning when people stopped coming over, and now it is so bad that we still don’t have people coming over. Add to that having a kid who doesn’t want to ever get rid of any of her old toys, and 2 parents trying hard to not let depression win… I don’t think we’ll ever have a clean house again.

I know someone who has been living abroad for 25+ years and he still votes in every election. I’m not sure if there is a time limit, but it seems to be long if there is.

I was a low level IT guy many years ago and had worked for the company for about 4 years. There was a sales guy also named Bob that I would help out a few times a year. It was a small company, around 50 employees, and every year at the company Christmas party sales guy Bob would come up to me and say “I don’t think we’ve met, I’m Bob”.

Walking through a zoo, watching the animals interact with each other, and with guests, reading about habitats, and experiencing an animal you’ve never even heard of before is a magical experience. I just got back from taking my daughter to a zoo 3 hours away from our house because she’d heard about okapis and wanted to see one. A documentary got her interested in the animal but the zoo let her learn a lot more.

The output is only as good as the model being used. If you want to write code then use a model designed for code. Over the weekend I wrote an Android app to be able to connect my phone to my Ollama instance from off my network. I’ve never done any coding beyond scripts, and the AI walked me through setting up the IDE and a git repository before we even got started on the code. 3 hours after I had the idea I had the app installed and working on my phone.
