If you’re planning on gaming, and you have an NVIDIA card, then I would like to recommend Bazzite. I’ve been using it for months, and I’m very happy with it. Have it installed to my Steam Deck as well as my PC.

I had this problem, but after not being able to resolve it I tried Bazzite and found the gaming experience was much better there anyway, so switched. This problem doesn’t exist on that distro.

They refuse to do it because the idea has absolutely no merit to it. If there’s a virus on your computer that could steal your data, it can just wait till you unlock that data to steal it. There is zero practical benefit to implementing your suggestion.

The last time this popped up was months ago on reddit, and the tool they came up with did something that could be reversed as a batch job using any image manipulator. Which means somebody will write a Stable Diffusion plug-in to fix these images.

Don’t be too gidy, it won’t work. SD is already trained on poisoned datasets to help it differentiate poorly generated images. We call it “adversarial training”. If this was gonna stop us from making AI artwork, , it already would have.

If this is all artists brought to the table, it wasn’t even a fight. SD is trained on vast data sets, this little effort won’t be but a drop in the ocean.

If the devs aren’t trustworthy, I’m sure as hell not trusting that they didn’t add something extra.

Of course it is! But Peter Thiel isn’t bipartisan, so idk what that has to do with his involvement in Brave. He self-identifies as far-right. Not leftist, liberal, or independent. And since we’re talking specifically about Brave and Thiel, I don’t really care about whataboutism in this context.

Let’s not forget one of the biggest investors is a right-wing billionaire who runs a corporate intelligence agency that contracts with the DoD. And the only proof we have that he doesn’t collect data on Brave’s users is the questionable word of the devs.

If it was someplace in Europe, absolutely. I would have zero qualms about ditching this dystopia. Sure, other places have their issues, but few are as bad the the US. With the far right takeover of the Supreme Court, it won’t be very long until the “land of the free” is no freer than Russia or China.
