The last day of so, I’ve noticed updates and downloads being abnormally slow. Anyone else?

In the F‑Droid app, open Repositories, select Mirrors, and then uncheck the default mirror as well as any mirrors that aren’t nearby.

    F-droids official statement from Mastodon:

If you feel that #FDroid downloads are slow, just press ❎ to cancel the download then press Install/Update again so it picks up some other mirror.

There’s no unified “F-Droid server” but several and a dozen or more mirrors.

Each time you try again it will use a different one. Hopefully the next one will have better bandwidth.

/PS: We’ve seen the reports, we will look into it.

Fdroid apps have mirrors for its own repo but you never know which server is used and why it is slow.

On droidify, you can choose one yourself. Choose one closer to you so It balances out load to main server.

    • Tap and hold the f-droid repo
    • Press edit
    • On the address dropdown
    • Choose a different mirror.

Find one closer to you and check if they’re updated as same as official mirror: https://marzzzello.gitlab.io/mirror-monitor/mirror/

You’ll have to re-sync the repo, so the app verifications won’t fail. Sometimes it may also require an app restart.

Yup, experiencing the same. Assumed it was another ddos or something, those are popular recently.

Was just trying an update again and so slow. .

Also lots of images aren’t loading on Lemmy, I was beginning to think something was wrong with my network until I read this and realized just a conincidence
