Getting out of the oceans was a mistake
With a bench power supply (or a similar ghetto version, that is any lion charger plus leads) you can charge single cells even while they’re connected in series. That’s how battery balancing works
I’d start with very low amps and maybe low voltages too to revive them
Good point about the lack of visibility… my usual fear is that every new requirement becomes an excuse to only make expensive and heavy, tall monstrosities, but a camera and screen are very cheap today so those are more than okay I guess, just like seatbelts and airbags.
Woah hold on so a backup camera is also a legal requirement? That sounds a bit too much hand-holding for me jeez. (But I’m used to old cars and motorcycles)
Ok looked it up, yup since May 2018! Interesting
Why waste word when 👍 do trick?
This one feels worse to me ahahah
A good horse is like 3 horsepower at least :)
Exactly the same reasons for me. And I even got used to the US and UK keyboard layouts, especially selecting the “dead keys” layout on the OS so I can easily type the specific letters/accents needed for many European languages (the few ones I speak anyway :) ).
Another advantage of the US layout is that it’s the default on any live / installation media / remote server ecc.
I love this comparison, In what language do they use the second saying?
Of course it’s not too late, it only appears harder because in school we spent a lot of time during the week with many people the same age. But only a fraction of that time is needed, all it takes is being around people and talking to people.
Many on lemmy rightly complain of the lack of “third spaces” nowadays in many of the richer countries (you said college I’m guessing US or UK?), so for example in many places it’d be a bit weird to just go to the pub alone. But you can also just go alone and do and enjoy whatever you want, it just takes a bit more confidence, the embarassment of it usually wears off with age for most.
What’s probably easier is joining some semi-regular activity where you get to chat. So pub quiz night, language exchange, chess club, hiking group, etc… are more likely to aid you in this compared to loud night clubs, the gym, or whatever, it’s all subjective it’s still important to do the stuff you enjoy, regardless of socializing.

Nothing to do with it being a launcher
Do they though? To most of my peers email=gmail
I do agree that it’s a good way to explain federation, anybody willing to be openminded will get the concept very quickly (I mean the importance of federation, like for email, not simply the fact that it’s a thing / old tech but whatever who cares).
But will many be exposed to those posts or articles explaining the fediverse while staying inside of the walled gardens? I hope so, personally I’m not going there anymore myself :)
That’s what cheese glue sticks are for!
I noticed recently that Gramophone has a Dates tab, a list of years in increasing order that groups Songs together. So not albums exactly, but pretty cool nonetheless, it grabs a random cover for each year.
Most people give their real full name, phone number and email for any loyalty card wothout batting an eye, plus even with anonymized data it’s useful to the owners to track correlation of purchases, time, location. Definitively what you said too, we all make mistakes (some more than others), every needless complication of a system is a disadvantage to the customer.
There are free services that allow you to create countless emails, one per site is ideal, just like one (different) password per site. Addy and Simplelogin have a generous free tier, last I checked the first one allows for unlimited receive-only addresses (when shopping it’s very rare you need to respond), the second gives you some two-way addresses.
If you get a domain, many registrars include free mail service, and have mail forwarding, or “redirecting”, which basically will allow you to create countless addresses (that can also send/respond) for your one account (You add these “email forwards”, or “Identities”, to your app of choice, like K9-Mail for android). You don’t necessarily need to buy their separate email package (although the interface might be more convenient). I’ll give you one example which includes email: OVHcloud, one of the largest clouds in europe.
If you can afford it there are all-in-one services like Soverin with easier interface.
It might be wise to start a slow process of migrating (or maybe deleting and creating again) accounts, and saving all this stuff in a password manager (like KeepassXC) if you aren’t already.
I’ve been surprised by the ease of use and stability of MX Linux, they also maintain a repo with some key packages updated, like Firefox. It’s Debian Stable with a few tricks up its sleeve.
Oh I see, thank you
