That seems like a small price to pay to have a dark magician girl decal in people’s faces in bumper to bumper traffic lol.

I’m not completely sure, but doesn’t Bitwarden encrypt all data before it reaches the server? That means the server implementation is a bit less important. I guess you probably don’t want to be leaking even encrypted databases though since there is a chance they could be cracked.

They line you up like you’re at an airport and check your ticket before you board the train, and also check your ticket once you’re on the train. They also have enforced weight restrictions on baggage. The trains share tracks with freight, meaning that the train has to stop every once in a while to let a freight train pass. All this to take longer than driving and cost alot as well.

I switched my server from Ubuntu to Fedora, partly so I don’t get sold Ubuntu pro on every login lol.
Vanilla Firefox is not clean either. It
- Has sponsored articles on new tabs
- Uses Google by default
Though, these are trivial to disable and even come pre-done on the linux distro I’m using to writ this comment.

Let's collect and discuss alternatives! ✊🛡3·3 months agoThis is literally me, except I left a comment here earlier today and when I saw the thread for a second time when looking at a reply, I also thought it was about Proton alla Wine.
I use Discord, though only in a web browser and only for semi-public chats. I might be using Discord less if I had gotten some friend groups onto something like Matrix.

Let's collect and discuss alternatives! ✊🛡44·3 months agoUnlike a car which is bought once and is mostly outside of vendor control once you have it, Proton mail is a service that requires continuous trust in the company since they offer a service. This means I no longer trust Proton as much, which makes me much less inclined to use their services.

The biggest thing that is holding it back in my opinion is a lack of features like extentions and FIDO support and moderate performance.
They use the front face scanner that’s used for Face ID, right? I’m pretty sure those have been on all iPhones since the 10 from 2017, so it’s hardly a bleeding edge feature considering it’s 8 years old. Having an iPhone as a hard requirement definitely sucks though.
I understand why they have the requirement: They want a 3d model of your face that they know is good enough so that they can make the facial interface.
What I don’t understand is why do they not accept a 3d model you create yourself? Using photogrammetry and a friend, it would not be too difficult to get a good 3d model of your face. Heck, they could even do a service where you send the photos of your face directly to Bigscreen where they process it for an extra fee. Boom, now there is no iPhone requirement to buy the product.

I have personally found SteamVR to be slow and very flakey, even on Windows. I find using monado I can just play. I guess monado has a bit more initial setup, but I personally found it to be worth it.
yonder@sh.itjust.worksto Linux@lemmy.ml•Valve's plan to bring SteamOS to more devices is a promising sign if you want to stop gaming on Windows1·4 months agoMaybe they mean that they use flatscreen applications in VR, or maybe they take all their meetings in VRChat.
yonder@sh.itjust.worksto Linux@lemmy.ml•Valve's plan to bring SteamOS to more devices is a promising sign if you want to stop gaming on Windows2·4 months agoYes, Meta shit actually works quite well using Wivrn apart from it being, well, from Meta. lvra.gitlab.io is a treasure trove of Linux VR info. SteamVR is kinda shit on linux, so using the open source openXR runtime Monado is ideal. I personally use a pimax 5k I got cheap used to play Beat saber and it works quite well. While not complete, there is very promising progress on getting WMR headsets working. The Index, Vive and Vive pro all work with no fiddling though if that’s what you’re after.
I think the meme is suggesting that 3 hours was spent setting up a local llm, like in This video.
