When I played COD (whatever the last one was before this most recent release) I loved playing shipment for laughs. Hide in a corner and setup claymores while aiming my shotgun down sight. Stupid stuff like that. I’d be 10-30 by the end but I’d have so much fun. To me it’s almost like an arcade mode.

And I always anticipate an “unexpected” crash that almost never happens. Even in shows where it would never happen.
uhN0id@programming.devto Gaming@lemmy.ml•Dr Disrespect fired by the game studio he co-founded: 'It is our duty to act with dignity on behalf of all individuals involved'English71·10 months agoIt’s like when people that cheat on others in their relationships start accusing their partners of cheating or have major trust issues because of their guilt (or whatever it is). And by that same logic I conclude that Nickmercs is a pedo (if he can do it with the LGBTQ community without evidence then he wouldn’t mind me making similarly wild claims about him, right?).
Then offer education or ignore the post. You know what’s easier than OP googling the question? You not responding to OP if you don’t have anything of value to add. You’re here with a passive aggressive “let me Google that for you” bullshit attitude yet YOU’RE upset at OP for not being better at searching for their answers?
I agree people should put more effort into trying to figure it out on their own and learning how to ask good questions but the tone of your comments is more detrimental to the quality of these communities than a “stupid question” ever will be.
Now we have millions of useless posts being archived like this one.
The archives! Why won’t anyone think of the archives!?
If we have room for comments like yours in the archives then we have room for legitimate questions by beginners in there too. Your post history shows a significant amount of deleted comments and downvotes. I bet they were all very productive and helpful comments for the archives, right?
Not OP comment but I had no idea Wayland supported all of that. Thanks for sharing! I really need to leave my Linux bubble more often.

Just went back to watch it and I don’t understand how someone can be ok with saying that. Yeah I’ve heard sexist things and weird sexual harassment comments in games like valorant, overwatch, etc but that was absolutely disgusting. His casual tone says so much about him too. He’s not even laughing where you could at least say “that’s a stupid shitty joke”. He has such a real tone to it that it’s truly disturbing.
I agree with all of your points. It’s unfortunate but I think we’ve gotten to the point that people need to be properly held accountable. Don’t just ban them from the game, ban them from the entire platform and report them to local authorities for that. Hell, when someone is this nasty someone on the community team should send it to their employer. It’s clearly a threat even if he has no way to see it through. This isn’t just calling someone trash, or telling a woman to “go back to the kitchen”. These people need to learn what real consequences are. It’s truly disgusting behavior.

Between this noscript stuff and learning about styling Firefox with CSS I’m absolutely sold on the switch and no longer dread the process of ditching Chrome (mostly due to familiarity than anything else).
Thanks for the info!

uhN0id@programming.devto Memes@lemmy.ml•Oh tell me again how it loads faster and takes up less resources3·11 months agoWould noscript allow you to block things like when a site packs your history with their website making it impossible to back out to the page you came from? How does it work considering so many sites now are built with JavaScript libraries like React?
uhN0id@programming.devto Linux@lemmy.ml•Federal agency warns critical Linux vulnerability being actively exploited3·11 months agoAh interesting. Thank you, you’re giving me something to read about that I never considered for crates. I guess I just assumed because of the scrutiny Rust was built with and continues to go through that it would also apply to verifying crates. I have definitely heard about it with NPM so it should have been obvious that it might not be any different for crates. Thanks again!

uhN0id@programming.devto Linux@lemmy.ml•Federal agency warns critical Linux vulnerability being actively exploited5·11 months agoI’m sorry but this reads like someone that hasn’t used Rust or hasn’t spent much time with it. You’re generalizing Rust with other languages while forgetting that some fads turn into standards.
If everyone stopped trying new things we’d never see progress.
Edit: fixed typo

To that point it’s probably going to be a lot slower than running it on an HDD too. That said, the USB performance is surprisingly good when you consider you’re literally running an OS over USB and the OS isn’t even in an optimized state.
And at least in the Unix context it’s a positive term.
