Plastic recorders are great. They’re portable, durable, and most 5th graders have one. Only downside I see is you can’t blow them through a gas mask.
Low quality ones are also wicked cheap. ($2 at my local dollar store)

I want them to only know “hot cross buns”.

Not a parent, not friends with my adult sibling: I suspect having emotionally mature adults around them would help. Also, don’t constantly side with the child with easier needs when there is a conflict between children. (Example: I wanted to not hear my brother’s music in my room. Brother wanted to play his music. Brother got his way. I got ear plugs.)
Don’t make the older child always do the selfless thing because they’re “more mature”. They shouldn’t have to share everything. (Example: brother got to ‘help’ blow out the candles on my birthday cake. He spat all over it because he was a toddler.)

Students smoking where they shouldn’t is a PITA to me, a librarian, because it can set off some fire alarms.
I do not appreciate needing to help a less mobile coworker down the stairs to evacuate the building. I don’t like spending in the rain while we wait for the fire department to declare the “all clear”.
We don’t use spy pucks to tattle on students, though: we know what alarm was triggered and we know who checked out that study room. Or we know who came out of the single seat bathroom.
Edit: and generally students have been contrite when they return the study room key after the building was evacuated. Very “I didn’t do it but I’ll let my friends who were studying with me know…” and we’ve not had repeat offenders. Tbh, they’re [young] adults so as long as no one is hurt and I don’t hear about it I’m cool with it.
Seconding that there is nothing in the dots. It’s just yellow and green dots.
It means I didn’t finish my thought. Oops. I’ll go back and edit.
