The article says right there that only 1 in 3 people are doing that (in europe).

What strawman? I’m talking about my old phones in my drawer, and I’m certainly not the only one who does that.
The thing with that is that nobody can get (much) use out of my old phones, because I already use them until they’re broken or unreasonably old - when even aftermarket ROMs like LineageOS don’t get security updates anymore, it’s time to retire that phone, and I regularly use my phones beyond that point.

My last phone broke after about 1.5 years of me using it (and it was already a refurbished device), and my current relatively new-to-me phone only has 2 years of security updates left (also refurbished). I’m probably going to use it for longer than that if it doesn’t break, but that would definitely be a good time to get a new phone if money was no object and I didn’t give a shit about the environment.

The thing is, recycling is clearly better for the environment than having 3 unused old phones in your drawer.

Who isn’t? If the phone doesn’t break, it becomes unusably slow with any operating system that still receives security updates (if there are any, which is not a given). Also, I have my doubts on whether it’s actually possible to reliably delete all data from your old phone as a consumer.
I use xfce4-terminal, lxterminal is also good for the same reasons. The nice thing about them is that their configs are very stable (this can be a bit of an issue with KDE, e.g. I recently had to redo my editor themes for Kate because the old ones weren’t compatible anymore), and they save system resources by letting all terminals run in one process. Running terminal windows in separate processes might protect you from crashes, but even though I use terminals heavily I just never have terminal crashes. And they’re simpler to configure than e.g. urxvt.

I like pineapple pizza (as long as the pineapple pieces aren’t too big), but that burger sounds annoying. Not saying the flavors don’t combine well, but the amount of toppings makes it sound way too tall unless the slices are razor thin.

Depends on how long I’m inside, how dark the store is and how much of a fuck I give on a given day. I do think that most people think it’s rude/douchey/etc., but I’m not convinced that I should care about that kind of moralizing of etiquette (though I do care, to various degrees, what people think of me).
It’s somewhat harder to see inside with sunglasses, but I, too, wear prescription glasses so it’s a bit of a hassle to change to normal glasses.
At least the stuff I like (if it would actually be called ‘drumstep’, which I’m not certain about) is generally quite a bit slower than drum’n’bass.
halftime 2-step drum pattern like dubstep
Is that not what drum’n’bass is doing, too? I don’t think I’ve ever heard a drum’n’bass track that wasn’t halftime with some kind of two step pattern.
It’s not really an album kind of genre, but here’s two EPs:
Drumstep is probably pretty niche. It’s like oldschool dubstep but slightly faster and with busier drums/cymbals/percussion. I think I actually need an even more specific descriptor to differentiate it, because if you search “drumstep” on youtube etc. you mostly get stuff with those brostep-style midrange noises that is super popular in more modern dubstep, drumstep and drum’n’bass, which I mostly don’t like at all.
I’m listening to a ton of niche genres, but TBH I don’t really have a good idea which of them would be the least known or least popular.
A (more) reputable alternative is the Internet Archive at Archive.org, best known for the archiving of websites at web.archive.org.
Last I checked, archive.org usually didn’t work when articles are paywalled. Has that changed?

I really don’t want to use voice chat when I’m talking to random people, I’m already not using any chat features. I’d rather use a different platform/software if it comes up at one point (e.g. for stuff like coordinating between mods); I generally prefer it when software keeps its scope small.
Thanks, not sure where I got alt+tab from - I think ctrl+tab is actually the more common shortcut for tab switching nowadays.
I’m a programmer and I still use Kate mostly for notetaking and configuration editing. I tend to use other editors like VS Code when I’m doing more involved stuff.
As a years-long Kate user, I’d assume the answer to most of those features is “no”. It’s still mostly a code editor, not an IDE.
Neat. I’ve been using kate as my standard text editor for years, mostly because of the session management and because you can give it a pretty minimalist interface with some configuration (something that similar editors like Geany tend to struggle with). I honestly didn’t know that there was a searchable tab list, I’ve been using alt+tab ctrl+tab (which already has a much better UI than many other editors) but that definitely gets unwieldy when you have a ton of tabs open (which is always … don’t even ask how many browser tabs I have).

I’d make it a point to not invest anything in the US, anyway.
Obama did nothing to earn his peace price and yet was still more deserving of it than Trump, even if that Gaza “peace” deal actually materializes.
