I run cosmos on arch linux so im on the latest kernel. For Ubuntu I dont know, guess we will see what they will pick for release.
It works quite well for gaming, I play some counterstrike with no issues.
I mean yeah, all these big tech companies are trying to make their products feel faster, because that’s the only space they can compete. When it comes to privacy, they all lose.
Well, Google has been caught trying to make their sites slower / malfunctioning on Firefox. Usually they get away with it by saying it’s a mistake.
Still the best browser, even though the majority left it for the speed they think chrome has.

Instance owners currently gets notified when someone has reported a user for spamming or trolling, but frequently it’s a user that is not on his instance, so he can’t do anything about it. Wouldn’t it be better if instance owners got notified only when they can take actual action (like the user being registered on their instance)?
FreeTube does and also Newpipe.
mrmanager@lemmy.todayOPtoLemmy Support@lemmy.ml•Version 0.19.1 outgoing federation issues for anyone else?
3·2 years agoYeah that’s what we are having here too, huge cpu usage and issues with outgoing federation. Sounds spot on.
mrmanager@lemmy.todayOPtoLemmy Support@lemmy.ml•Version 0.19.1 outgoing federation issues for anyone else?
3·2 years agoWhat we are seeing is that outgoing federation of posts and comments works after a restart, but new posts and comments made on the local instance are not federating to other instances until the next restart. This is with version 0.19.1.
Also after a restart, the server eats a lot of cpu for several minutes. Im guessing this is normal with the federation queue being processed but cant be sure.

:) Haha, I have had so many bad experiences with shitty managers so it’s kind of a joke alias.
