I’m reading all the love for the original Steam controller; I didn’t get it. Maybe it’s because I’m a heavy dpad user, but I had one and sold it off reasonably quickly.
Here’s hoping the follow-up works better for me; the Deck is fantastic!

I’ll play whatever game is good, from whatever platform has the best price, provided it’s compatible.
It’s excellent. There’s missing art assets (placeholder graphics, especially noticeable with the keepsakes - they’re all just gold rings with a single letter pricetag rn), but the gameplay loop is great, the mechanics all appear to be in place and the audio is incredible (just wait until the zone 2 boss fight).
It absolutely feels like a worthy successor to the original. Mel plays very differently than Zag, but the controls are no less tight. God Mode returns if you dislike “git gud”.
Playing it on my Steamdeck, and thoroughly enjoying it.
Immutable distributions are the future. I’d suggest getting used to them. Fedora Kinoite is my daily driver on my PC.
Signal was fantastic until they stupidly killed SMS integration.
Toys r Us is still in business… in Canada. Went there yesterday, in fact.
Depends on your hardware. It mostly just works.
