Actually, I’m not really sure why I have my VPN on at all times. I guess I just want all my online traffic to be encrypted, including when I come accross some host that doesn’t support https. It’s not so much a technical reason at this point. Perhaps a philosophical one? As in, I want my daily conversations to be overheard only by those whom I interact with.

I didn’t mention it in the OP, but I am not logged in to either a Google or a Samsung account. The only apps I use the Play Store for is USB Audio Player and an electronic ID app that a lot of government related everyday chores require… If and when my threat model requires me to silo it off, I’ll get Pixel and bump up my privacy. 😊

I’ve been gaming with Steam on Arch without issues for a few years now, occasionally applying some popular Steam command tweaks as can be seen on protondb. My question is rather, after a days consideration, could I achieve the same gaming experience with another init system than systemd, such as I can have on for instance Artix or Gentoo, provided I install all the other dependencies for Steam and drivers for nvidia. 🤔
