No it doesn’t, but my 75yo dad has been asking/thinking about switching when Windows 10 eol.
Most of my Linux/Unix experience is at the server level.

What distro did you get them on?
The pay bill button on my capital one CC account doesn’t work on Firefox. Once a month I have to use a chromium based browser.
I have a Pixel 8 pro (with stock OS) and use Shelter to isolate my work apps. I have not had any issues. Super nice being able to just pause the whole suite of apps when I’m on PTO / away and don’t want to be bothered.
Installed and we’ll see how it goes. Thanks for the heads up!!
Sounds like this would at the very least remove $20-30m in revenue (according to the article) not counting if the copyright holders decide to go after them.
I think it puts them in a precarious situation overall.
I no longer have to daily drive mine so as I said I hope it lasts a LONG time!
Makes me glad my, going on 17 year old Toyota will likely run forever and is as dumb as a box of rocks regarding this stuff.
why is incognito transmitting anything to anyone. Glad I switched to FF a while back.
Oh ya for sure. I deleted my account, and moved here never intending to look back. I have clicked on a couple reddit links since I left but I really try not too. Like I’d say 5 times maybe. In the end if I need info and that’s the only place…
I just, don’t visit reddit anymore.
Problem solved…
Mine has like 165k. First vehicle I bought myself new. SR5 is just the middle package. They had the low trim as no named, SR5 then limited.
I got mine from Jim Barkley (brand new). Six hour drive. I drove down there in a 1999 Chevy S10 ZR-2 and traded it in and bought the Tundra. I was there like 30-45 min and I financed it with them. Jim Barkley is gone now, but that was such a pleasurable experience for a car buying experience.
Still love this truck!
2008 Crewmax SR5, bought new 12/2007. I feel exactly the same way.
My wife had one (Yeti), and it worked quite well so I bought one and carry it around quite often. I also happen to watch ‘Project Farm’ on YT and he JUST did a thing on tumblers. Yeti was actually kind of middle of the road compared to the others he tested.
Funny enough, my wife walked in while I was watching it and this is when I found out there was a big Stanley craze happening right now making them hard to get. I do not watch tik tok and I guess that’s where it started. At any rate the Stanley ranks pretty high on actual function against the others he tested.
I didn’t hit Reddit until Digg’s problems started up, but those, like these now here, where the good 'ol days :)
It 100% brought me here. Didn’t know what Lemmy was until the chaos over there. ultimately deleted my account never looked back. And that was a lot of eyeball time they lost from me.
We’re missing the overall mass of people that both generate new, and answer questions on the content that was there, but I’m OK with that and I actually get better engagement here with those missing mass of people. I’m sure there’s a point of more is not better when it comes to users.
Ya, but it’s hard to use logic for a company that realistically has too much money and power if they decide they want to ‘win’ against ad-blockers.
That said, I do use adblock(Ublock Origin), Sponsorblock, and I even have / use pihole in the house, and I guess being a ‘premium’ subscriber overrides their messing with ad blockers. With my TV(nvidia shield) or Browser (Firefox) I do not get any delays / problems. So at least that’s good for now.
I mean, perhaps, but it the infrastructure, creators and user base are pretty big hurdles to overcome. I keep my head up watching Odyssey, peertube etc… but they seem mostly fringe creators so far.
Competition is good no doubt
That’s a bold statement since they own the stream we’re watching from
If they embed the ads, and block things like sponsoblock from working, it’ll get pretty hard to filter them.
I pay for premium, but I watch a LOT of YT and listen to a lot YT music so I don’t mind paying ATM.
Thanks, I’ll check them out. I’ve heard mint a few times as a good beginner distro. I’ll probably dual boot my PC on whatever I am gonna recommend him for a bit so I get my bearings and can support him a bit :)
