Stoked for you! Here is to hoping it’ll not bite you with any failing parts in the near future so you’ll have time to get used to how things work! We’ve only had ours for almost a year now and I’ve already replaced half the house. But we got a fixer upper. Lol

No clue why except i think people are mostly just really fed up with Mozilla making a non profit about everything but their browser. I could see a lot of people prefer the name and the willingness to try new stuff compared to floorp.

But really i think most of it is it’s very different from Firefox and people are tired of Firefox… But still hate chromium.

Lols. Yea i actually hate that. No i gave been begging my org to just treat interns differently and actually help them rather than let them sink or swim. Most of the interns we get are expected to know all the ins and outs, but they are just kids yet basically. So i think hiring managers honestly should lower the bar and then the org needs to properly train and teach them to get em up to speed. Maybe it takes six months but it’s about time we start investing in our people.

This is why i went to Linux. This stuff needs to stop.

1. college doesn’t teach much.
2. college is still useful tho. It does require some determination and persistence to get through, or at least tolerance for dealing with. “This is the way to learn” junk.
3. most actually useful knowledge is gained on the job
4. I think most people fresh out of high school aren’t ready for a real job, but college grads are barely ready too to be honest. Hyper generalized and i bet most people reading this are actually very qualified, that said I’ve met many college grads interning with us who just don’t have the fortitude to do it just yet, hopefully by their second job they’ve grown accustomed to the dumb way of life we all call work.

Yes, but also… It’s true. Browsers are the number one way folks get viruses.

I guess I’d agree. I’m just quite pessimistic and view that almost all people are quite corrupted and checks and balances of a sort reign it in.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say power does corrupt. For almost all of history, any sort of power eventually comes with corruption. Its kinda the human condition. That being said, I do think there are ways of minimizing that corruption and defending against it.

I don’t think that’s entirely true. They won’t sell direct data, but through their ad and search systems your ads can drill down to very specific people and thus you know about them. It’s still crappy. It’s kinda unfair I think to outright say they don’t sell your data. You data is their core money maker. It’s just in a round about way. Sure maybe it doesn’t bother you, but in my opinion, the collection of data is the core problem with modern technology, not even just the internet. Data is extremely powerful and valuable.
