Have only seen the backlash so far, but I guess i’m not the target.

More interesting example: people use Firefox despite Google being main donator. I know it’s more complicated, but yeah, Mozilla wouldn’t survive otherwise.
Dude, women don’t wear Kippahs. Are you kidding? How bad is this “meme”?
Honestly I rarely ever wonder if someone is trans and even less so with fictional characters and their voice actors. Most boys in media are voiced by women anyway.

… or most other places. Nobody ever wanted to even see my phone.
Most questions I’ve been asked ever was the few times I went to the US in the past.
The US immigration officers want to know who picks you up, what you do, ask details about your work, random shit. I had to explain to one details about a wedding I was going to attend. Another wanted to know details about the VR devices I worked with.
Other countries at most ask profession, duration of stay and address in the country. I’ve been to countless countries on every continent except Antarctica. Your mileage may vary of course because discrimination against certain passport holders is real.

Seems to be working again, but the last couple of days there was no good solution.

And that’s why we need to build better and better tools for everyone.

I mean that’s what “exempt” means in this context.

You’re exempt from the service too probably.
Yeah, but Bushido is brought up whenever the Japanese culture is romanticized.

The name is funny, but he’s a former oil lobbyist heading the department of traffic and the environment. So it’s not been so fun the last few years if you cared for the environment.

Yes, nobody cares. You only notice when some foreign president visits or something and there’s like the minister of home affairs shaking their hand. She got no business doing that in her role as department head but I guess she’s the president for this year so it’s one of her duties.

As soon as you don’t just look at momentary values, but the change of CO2 concentration in the atmosphere the picture is a lot less rosy. Nature can adapt, but it operates in time scales that reduce all of human civilization to a tiny blip in the history of the planet. The current change is unprecedented and is much more akin to extreme events like meteor impacts or huge volcano eruptions.
Actually looking at how nature has been and is changing right now affected by human made climate change, we are clearly steering towards an extinction event, not an era “with more life”. Extinction means death. A lot of it. It’s not the first extinction event of its kind, but catastrophic nonetheless.
Will there be a recovery after a million years or so? Sure. Will there be anything resembling human civilization? No.
The crazy part is that it’s utterly misunderstood as “abolish the police”. You see officers in military gear parading next to crumbling libraries and don’t think the funds should go somewhere else?
Lack of literacy is a problem. Defunding a militarized police force isn’t. But I guess the general public needs more handholding.
Even though I really liked the game, I remember it being frustratingly non-interactive at times. I think that’s the gameplay weaknesses you describe accurately. I had to remind myself that I’m playing a walking simulator for the story. No puzzles, no challenges etc.

Takes a while to get into the code, but I love the project so it’s worth it. I’ll probably send money first. Can’t commit too much time right now.

I’ve got two devices online and I have no idea what’s next. Nothing ever happens on the network.
Several Swiss banking apps work without problems on my FP4 with /e/OS.
You never thought having the same standardized food throughout the year everywhere on the continent is actually weirder?
I own my Fairphone 4 for a bit over 4 years already. Bought a new battery once and some screen protectors. It’s still doing great and I don’t understand why I would need a new one any time soon.
