I just fixed the dishwasher that is original to the house. I’ve never used a dishwasher before(ty technology connections). my god is it loud and keeps giving me a heat attack even a week after using it, but I can’t argue with clean dishes.

Uneven load shifted as I was about halfway out. Too afraid to try to shift the forks over to try and balance it as it was up about 8m up. The most experienced operator passed by 10 seconds later and said yeah hold up and pushed the load towards the center. After it was safely on the ground, he asked if I got scared. There has been on going repairs “in my area”, even though I haven’t experienced any downtime. everytime I call, even if it’s not related to it, I get 3 repeats of menus and after telling me again there’s repairs, it hangs up on me. At this point I’m just waiting on the competitor to get to me, its already 2 streets down. I’ll call my state representative and tell them I’ve been trying everyday to cancel my shit and get hanged up on. I’ll just tell my bank not to process it as I’m unable to cancel the service. Idgaf at this point. Fuck Comcast.

Currently in college. They are agnostic as it’s all turned in on PDF files, quizzes on browser, etc but my online classes require I install some root kit program to make sure I’m not cheating and it detects if it’s on a VM. I talked to IT and they let me borrow a laptop with windows. Slow as hell, but I only need it for the online tests so 4 times a semester.

The prices are high over here as well, when the interest rate drops again I’ll look into taking a HELOC or refinance. I’m trying to put as much money into the principal as I can in the mean time.
Mine too! There’s slight water damage to the bottom kitchen cabinets and wooden floors, that we can for too fix, as water slowly leaked down the walls, but at least we got new roof, windows and doors.
There are a lot more jobs in the medical profession than doctor or nurse. It’s indoors so climate controlled. There’s 2 yr programs that start out around 60k a year.
Helped change a water heater at my parents place. Got quoted 1k in labor. Took us a little less than 2 hrs of actual work to do it. Had to buy new flexible connectors and Teflon tape. Possible fire or water damage is no joke so i understand the hesitation to DIY, but the work is pretty straight forward.
Trades are absolutely a viable option. There will always be a need.
Great grandpa was a woodworker, there’s been at least one in every generation, and some how got a hold of a late 1800s or early 1900s Stanley No.1 plane. I think it sells for around 2k to 2500. Its got wear, but it still works just fine.
I rarely use it, but it’s something that’s been in the family for over 100 years. I do a little woodworking, mostly utilitarian stuff like boxes and shelves, but I’ll never sell it. 3 generations of people used it to make a living.
