After watching other comments I wonder why some people don’t get that this was a bug or at the very least, undocumented behavior outside of the Settings GUI. I had to deal many times with file (4).pdf on my Downloads dir. A BIG thank you, OP.

Ah, ok, then I hope an admin can solve your problem.
It’s not a good idea to put your mail out in the wild, you can be victim of loads of spam.
upvoted, but, wouldn’t it be really cold days? as in, contrary to the trend of warming.
private keys fit in a floppy disk, and their use range includes ransomware decryption and identity verification. In Mr. Robot, all 9-M could’ve been undone with a floppy.
and perl is orders of magnitude faster than python for document parsing
Maybe on the short term but damn, that M-x butterflies is a time saver.
sorry, I didn’t saw your answer and also replied! I didn’t remember that (.)COM was also a file extension, but now, thanks to your reminder, I will play some DOS games ;)
since .zip and .mov are recognizable file extensions, a url of the form google.com.docs.zelensky.zip could make people think that the domain is google.com pointing to a zip instead of the true domain, zelensky (dot) zip which probably would serve malicious content under that subdomain.
Unexpected actual solution, if we all replaced meat with all types of beans.
There are posts that contain despicable information/news but are useful to know, and I always struggled between upvoting or not voting since downvoting would remove karma from OP.
And there is so much knowledge deposited in reddit that it would be unwise to let its future on the hands of gold seekers. I wish we had more time for the backups, and that those that overwrote their posts and comments can share that lost info here.
keep safe, I really hope you’re not being used as a drug mule (or forcing someone to be one).
That would be counterproductive xD
Yes, it is worth saying. In fact I was scrolling for this. There should be a way to adopt refugee communities with all its posts from other instances so as to not lose all the information when the server goes down for good. It needs consensus, but only from admins of original community and the new host, this last to prevent server abuse. Also, if communities can get merged, the list of instances hosting the community would serve both as redundant backup and as distributed (instead of fragmented) service.
Good ol’ emacs, relevant xkcd (although I don’t think there’s anyone that hasn’t seen it).
